Smart yet so simple by the USA while Paraguay are completely off the pace. A USA win means they'll be a little slower against us as they'll be feeling better eith 3 points. I'd imagine they'll see Turkey as the harder game.
 
It's Paraguay's first world cup since 2010 right?

Think this is exactly why world cup experience is so valuable. Players can really get overwhelmed without that experience when stepping onto this stage for the first time. Look at us against Chile in 2014 in that first half for example.

We really need to take advantage of that against Turkey as well. We need to take advantage on anything we have over the other teams.

It's the difference between going casually into practice games and doing it all on the big day. I hope our team also finally goes in extra hard are many casual practice game performances.

They've certainly identified Paraguay's deficiencies while exploiting their own assets.

Turkey will definitely be the more difficult game for the USA compared to us and they'll probably be going for the draw against an ultra-defensive Socceroos side given that three points today are likely going to be enough for them heading into matchday 2.

In a way. A few factors at play that the USA are the home team and Paraguay are suffering stage fright. The Chile example is a good one and we were also in their backyard.

We have just as many world cup rookies as other tournaments. 17 I believe.
 
The US have probably had more attacking opportunities already in this game than we did during our whole qualification process.

Paraguay are at the World Cup for the first time since 2010 but definitely experience at major tournaments does play a part.
 
Are we witnessing the first in camp implosion? Only 40min gone but this is highly surprising. Paraguay's heads are down. They're ignoring each other and looking resignated to their fate.
 
We've got to avoid defeat against Turkey. Otherwise we could be looked at USA and Turkey on 6 points and negative GD and then a vital win needed against Paraguay but the GD may not be enough then. I'm still hoping to see 2 big teams cruise then a draw between the other 2 teams such as Saudi Cape Verde or Uzbekistan DR Congo.
