A-League transfer news/rumours

My point is, is that it is called" Football" stick yer " Soccer" up your arse. Franchise does not fuss me in the slightest, unlike, at the mention of SMFC joining said franchise league frightens the life out of you.
I suggest its more your fellow franchise customers that would have their life frightened out of them if Hellas were to join the Aleague...

Newcastle Jets have released their retained list and list of new arrivals ahead of A-League Men season 2026-27, with Max Burgess, James Delianov, Daniel Wilmering, Eli Adams, Alex Badolato, Max Cooper, Zach Clough, Joel Bertolissio, Will Dobson and Xavier Bertoncello remaining under contract for next season.
Trying to get back on track, thanks rebfem for the post, I'll take that list for next year

I eagerly await your acceptance, but something in the back of my mind tells me that after you have paid your $15 million or so, they are going to tell you that you must drop the name" Hellas" to be able to compete. That would be so Australian football.

Why would the rest of the league be frightened about a team that got touched up by Auckland reserves.

The flares and the Greek flags, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

We were forced to drop "Hellas" 30 years ago BTW.. racism in Australian society isn't a new thing....

And as it stands today the only Australian Champions trophy from actual Australia are South Melbourne Hellas... The Aleague one was given to New Zealand.

Do other teams release players as much Australia? Doesn't seem like it it's basically a new team every year
I think it’s just cause we tend to have shorter contracts for only one, two or three years usually. Obviously we can’t offer massive contracts like Erling Haaland’s one at Man City (which is massive; it lasts till 2034! He’s already been there since 2022), since we’re not a top league and our talents get the opportunity to go overseas.

Let me guess, those "people you know" again eh? hahahahaha Did you ask them how we manage to not have money to pay a coach for one week, then find it under the fridge and go get our Manager back from Cash Converters, THEN find another 15 million to buy an APL participation license, under, Im assuming, the same fridge?
wait, I know this is a banter back and forth but is this real, you guys have paid the 15 mil?

We are paying it in instalments.. First the APL gives us $5 million then we give them $3 million of that back and then they give us another $10 million and we give them $2 million back - we have thus paid $5 million and the rest will be wiped off by FA never to be spoken of again.

One was a lower league trophy. (They don't really count in the grand scheme of things)
All trophies count and they all add to the storied histories of clubs including South Melbourne who are still the most successful team in Dockerty Cup history and will forever hold the distinction of being the inaugural Australian Championship winners.
