In regards to player international call ups, there is provision in the Rules of Competition for clubs to request a postponement. There is no provision for clubs on international commitments to request a postponement. That's where South was stuck.

To be honest, I would have liked for Hellas to have signed him. Decent striker, played well against us in the Australian Championship for Sydney Olympic, and was handy for South Island United in the OFC Pro League.

Interesting point this. Is Olympics plan in to start building towards the championship towards the tail end of the npl season, surely they can’t just get a whole new team right before it kicks off. Would this also hypothetically put them in a better than expected place for the aus cup etc. again, this is gonna be very difficult to pull off well no matter how they do it

Hopefully they all get back up one day. Incidentally Bonnyrigg, parramatta and Fraser park are all in a promotion battle as we speak in npl3 this season

Why parra.. last time they were in pl1 they tanked the season, getting their only win because wolves played a suspended player & got their women's team shut down because they were copping 10 goals a game

Because they’re a historic club playing out of a historic venue. Losing these sorts of clubs and replacing them with the likes of sd raiders etc slowly chips away at the character of the league imo
