South were willing to pay 15 million back in 2018 but those were very different times, the league was in better shape and on fox.

What Auckland paid has no relevance, they have no competition in their own city.

The WU license should be cheap...within reason.

15 million was always going to be a starting figure, now the games begin on whether South can negotiate that figure down.

After 20 years of chasing this will the club actually do it

$15m is just a number to us without knowing what else is involved. Partial league ownership? Covering any debts? Distributions? Facility developments? Who knows?

I want south playing in the top level of Australian football but 15 million for a used license either apl negotiate with us or get WU back into shape cause I can’t see anyone else pay it
I think the more likely option should be for APL to negotiate the asking price for the licence with South Melbourne and reach an agreement with us because Western United has been placed into receivership so is eventually going to fold anyway.

The 15mill thing must be codswallop. There’s no way Maverick Sports paid anything even close to that for the Jetties
Correct.
Licenses have been a moving target even back in Lowy times.
A friend worked at the then FFA.
You be a mug over paying.
The first responders got whipped and you’d think got compensation once known later licenses sold for less.
Maybe was still part of debt owed wouldn’t be surprised.

Ross Pelligra was willing to pay 15 million, and then waited a few years and got Perth for $1....
