I don’t mean to shit on APIA, I want them to do well and I’ve attended many of their games just to support traditional clubs. But I still want to see them back it up again this year and see how the wests group arrangement plays out longer term before I’m prepared to put them in that category. I think Sydney united would have just as much claim as them if not more. Again, it’s been a long time since they’ve been in the national league, add another decade on top of Hellas and Marconi’s extended absence. And Hellas and Marconi were both still willing and able and when they were pushed out, they have different strengths as clubs but both are proven to be strong and sustainable year after year over decades. APIA were forced to drop out on their own accord in the early 90s. Again, I’m not saying they can’t do it, they’ve done well in recent times, I just want to give them a bit more time to see if they can sustain their recent gains
