Funny that 2 of the key players that saved us from relegation will soon both be gone.

I actually feel really sad for south Melbourne players and staff, they are doing the best job they possibly can and not getting paid for it. Poor old south Melbourne gyfti club can't afford it.

Meanwhile oakleigh is sitting top of the ladder, everyone paid in full and enough cash to throw away at stripper parties. It's not fair. I think Oakleigh should help out the hard working south melbourne staff and players by donating them their wages, it's only fair. Consider it a thanks for the 2 npl grand finals and the game south generously gifted us weeks ago 👍👍

Exactly !

Pope should never have travelled to Auckland, much the same as another 5-6 players that should have stayed in Melbourne for NPL Victoria competition duty.

Opportunities were limited for Pope, but given the midfield starters of Giannakopoulos and Pasquali, he was never going to get much match time. Menelaou and Leech were usually called upon first if there were any substitutions made. Hope it works out for Pope at another club.
 
I dont think Pope is better or worse than our backups. Its just that Menalou has had a few good performances when called upon (Altona, Bentleigh best on ground, solid against hume). Leech also played a blinder in that altona game and has chipped in with a few goals off the bench. Unfortunately Pope just hasnt stood out this year.

I agree, more of a case of too many similar players than poor performance...

Yeah but he spent alot of time on the bench and minutes on the pitch only to kill a game or to save it...
 
If south remain a members based club and get a license....that means they get some congress votes right and members of south get to pressure their club to pressure their board for p and r?

SMFC can't remain a members based club AND get a license... unless members are hoodwinked into giving up control of the club ala Sydney Olympic... Any hero trying to squeeze this through will have a fight on their hands.
