The first half tactic of absorbing pressure sets us up for a panic rush to catch up. The second half was better and for a friendly a pretty normal hitout.

I don't think we should be setting up this way as we're wasting time not using our best assets. Popovic giving us a small window to score only makes it harder.

The only reason why we have a small window to score is because Popovic is using an ultra-defensive tactical system which emphasises parking the bus instead of creating chances and getting shots at goal.

Popa would've learnt nothing from that game. It was so random. He probably thinks the first-half team performed better than the second.

Us fans learnt that:
-Okon > O'Neill
-Leckie isn't it
-Irankunda should start
-Souttar's still a beast
-Toure and Irvine don't need Leckie, Metcalfe and O'Neill around them
-Volpato needs to start

It was a decent hit out with some lessons, no injuries, competitive against an excellent team. Nothing to be concerned about except for some of Popovic's selection decisions.

Tony Popovic will inevitably need to explain himself if those questionable selection decisions carry over to when the final playing list for the World Cup is named and we end up having a disastrous campaign.
