Tete Yengi would be a better option to act as a backup striker for the Socceroos as opposed to Brandon Borrello but Leckie should be culled from the playing list instead of either of them.
 
I see what Popa has in mind for Leckie now, He really doesn't prioritise an attacking outlet, would not bank on anyone playing off the shoulder to play an effective counter. Popa had given pretty good indication that he see Irankunda as a super sub and backup to Toure in the most recent friendlys.

Thank fuck, we have Volpato now. Imagine we were starting this lineup against Turkey. At least Volpato replacing Leckie, offers something.

Mexico have named their starting XI for their friendly against the Socceroos, with a fairly solid playing list fielded for them. Raul Rangel starts between the sticks and Edson Alvarez leads the line as captain.
 
Socceroos in their home green and gold strip, with Mexico in their all black third kits with red, white and green striped trim. Mathew Ryan in the grey keeper strip for the Socceroos.
 
That is so feeble by Irvine to Bos there. Can't event get a firm ball back from a throw.
