I agree. Irvine, Ryan and Behich will be managing the squad but this is something too short a notice. Despite having been on the radar this is a few days before the squad announcement.

I do not like Popovic but I don't think for a second he's biased against Nisbet because he played well against Victory. I don't think Popovic values technical midfielders in this system. I think Nisbet is also playing at too low a level and doesn't have the physicality Popovic likes.

We just have to play the waiting game for Cristian Volpato to jump ship because Football Australia have already lodged the paperwork and received the release letter from the Italian federation but FIFA should approve the request in the coming days which would mean that in theory he can be locked to the green and gold jersey for life as early as our friendly against Mexico.

Serie has probably declined slightly in quality since Bres? But interesting data points.
I think he was probably on track to earning an Italian cap at some point if he continued on his current trajectory.
