From what I have been told (from just regular NPL parents) nothing too grand but somewhat involved, he is practically the head of football operations for the Olympic Group. Olympic Group - two entities, the AUSC team and the NPL club. AUSC is owned by Hanlin and NPL club has their membership structure. NPL club has agreed to be the feeder to the AUSC team and work as one but technically two different businesses.

That Olympic spot should have been Marconi’s ffs. In contrast to United, Marconi have had relatively few appearances in the national rounds, and it’s not down to the club not taking it seriously, they do, they just keep not qualifying. Trying to do their best impression of the Italian national team by the looks. As I say, frustrating because the cup is so important for traditional clubs as it’s only real outlet they’ve got atm. Would love to see Marconi host a big cup game v Sydney fc or the wanderers at a full Marconi club. Ironically the only time that’s happened is when Bonnyrigg white eagles played the wanderers there a few years back. I think wanderers played Adelaide in the cup there too one time.

Tell ya what, Olympic were lucky to get out of that, geez they’re shit. For the most part, especially in the first half you genuinely wouldn’t have known that the two clubs were separated by 2 divisions. Olympic look like an under 21s team and a fairly average one at that plus Ziggy Gordon who, to use my fathers favourite phrase “turns like the titanic”. Anyway, entertaining game for the neutral, good crowd and a decent little atmosphere, worth getting down to. Good on both clubs for making it a bit of an event. I know it’s wishful thinking but imo something like this would be the perfect little boutique sized venue for olympic to start to rebuild from. Still a decent size but you don’t need a big crowd for it to fill up and have a decent atmosphere

Shame Fraser Park couldn’t go through but hopefully it pushes them to go one better and qualify for both it and League One for next year 🤞

Not the right thread for this but I wonder what it would mean for this arrangement if the championship ends up being canned in its current guise by the fa. Would the aus championship Olympic entity also be wrapped up and it go back to just being the members based club. Unknowable right now imo

Watching Preston last night was like a relief from blue balls....prior to that Preston couldn't score in Bangkok!! The likes of Albano, Brooks, Markovski finally got on the scoresheet...if they continue that form into the league they may rattle a few cages.

And if Heidelberg assumed that being AFC licenced meant they're in AFC2, again that's unfortunate. Plenty of clubs are AFC licenced, doesn't mean they all qualified for a tournament on merit.

Again, I want to see in writing where the FA told Heidelberg that they have qualified on merit for AFC2. Until then, they haven't got a leg to stand on.
