Exactly, none of the journos will have the spine to really press popa on these decisions, especially after he throws out one of his generic responses. Would love for one of them to just ask "What is it about Robertson you despise so much?.... What does Borello have over you? Incriminating photos? What is it?"

Rugari saying Robertson isnt a like for like McGree replacement. I think we get that. He states it'll throw the midfield plan out the window as they have specific roles. Roles which still aren't visible as to what the fuck Popovic wants to do.

Borrello last featured in June then looked to be ousted. What on earth has he done in 10 days? He certainly did nothing for WSW.

I repeat myself but those post qualifier pressers under Ange you had the silence in the room with the mostly Fox Sports and newspaper army just coming at him and they were rude and pushed on stuff whereas Popovic scorns and they back down. It's also a new generation of media who would dare cross lines as to keep their jobs. Enquiry is gone.

Foster went nuts about Pim after Germany. I'D actually like a quaint discussion with Popovic on the matters but no one should or will be thrown under a bus and that's ok. He won't give away his match plan but just to what he's basing the decisions on would be interesting.

Geria and Degenek are favourites of Popa. I cannot see either of them being dropped especially as they can cover right fullback where we are seriously lacking in depth. I'd say Rowles is more likely.

Wouldn't surprise me if it's Yengi and Devlin.

Primarily because all the fans want to see those two in the squad so therefore Popa will likely cut them.

Secondly, because I reckon Popa would prefer Borrello and Nish over Yengi and in Irvine, O'Neill, Leckie, Okon-Engstler, Metcalfe and Trewin, probably thinks he doesn't need Devlin.
 
I feel like Robertson has been given the allegiance test like Segecic, Triantis to see if his willing to be play for us under the coaches eyes, luckely Peru haven’t qualified otherwise he could easily gone too.

Anyway he should gotten more time for the national team regardless.

I think this is more representative of the increased strength of other areas rather than a steep drop off for midfield. Granted both rogic and mooy (Mooy especially would elevate this team to possibly our best ever) would be starters now but there wasn't a ton of depth after those two.
 
Worst thing about losing McGree, apart from losing McGree, is that he'll just be replaced by a Metcalfe or a Hrustic. Yeah yeah they have qualities but they're a known factor and they've reached their ceiling already. A salve to the McGree wound would be to see Riley replaced by a young excitement player with huge potential. Why Borello, D'Agostino and Caceres were in Florida instead of an Eli Adams or a Clayton Taylor is betraying the future for a dead past.. That's why we loved Guus, he was a risk taker.
