NPL 2026

Jealous many of you make alot of time and not as busy as I am - something doesn't add up hahaha
I mean back in the young to later years football ran my life, my wife says she has been a football widow for decades, least 3.
Do any of you play still ?
The fam run around commitments ?
Maintain the house/garden/cars ? <<< yes its a bitch but obviously not some of you.
I'm juggling countless balls like maradona lol......

All of those things ... apart from playing.. ever since I did my knees.

Hellas is the catch up with the guys... Dad's "man time" to drink and swear and get rid of the weeks burdens. The family knows to schedule things around it.. My wife's question every time something is being organised is "what time is Hellas on the weekend". Its just part of the weekly routine like it always was. Sometime the kids come, very rarely the wives do, but every week, home and away, is same group of us for 90 mins then the rest of life can resume... One Life, One Love, One Club.

What happened to your knees? I had an arthroscopy on my right knee, and later an ACL reconstruction on the same knee. That was the end of football and most other sports that involve running or changing direction.

i played over 35s friday nights up until last season and gave it away.

Its much easier to go to games when you take the family and kids with you. They come to all the home games with me and enjoy it.

ofcourse football is our "me time" mates and team mates......shout/bant/drinks/lol's.....luv it.
My wife for ages knew football was first and foremost but I think I drained it too long for her and I had to understand that in recent times.
Unlike you guys suffering those typical injuries shortening your play I had a cherished run.
I've played right through to my late 50's - and hoping to carry on and recovered from a ACL and prior a ruptured achilles tendon, can't hold me back !
Then had/have both sons to this day play - so 3 games over the weekend, then one son may say lets go watch such and such, get to APIA games or another NPL closer.
Football weekends have run our lives hence her comments she's my football widow.
Then I have biz trips that go over weekends.
Yep part of the fabric but can only do so much.

Luv it Beretta re the fam - hence why mine all play - no choice it was football.
The wife luvs to watch our sons and she comes along to the big derbies/finals etc but couldn't be bothered re NPL.
Someone has to wash/iron/cook hahaha
Also I actually do not want her around my "me time" every time feck that - plus she's one of those who schreek at tackles, watching either of our boys copping one or give it back - omg is he ok, or when one of ours goes in hard pay back - oh no thats wrong haha so I'd sooner she not around.

Yes one life Mono, hence i cram in as much as poss :)

torn ligaments just before getting married made it easy to put off playing till "next season" which led to life getting in the way for a few years... Its easier to blame the knees than to say "too lazy, no time".

Athena undefeated...

In all comps and including vpl1 i probably watched 70 games in total last season from day 1 of npl through to aus championship final. Knocked the stuffing out of me was buggered by the end.

Tracking at a much slower pace this year. Some of it due to South playing the under 23s in numerous games. I cant be stuffed going to other games unless very local. Youtube winning this season so far.

Rockdale Ilinden FC vs Western Sydney Wanderers

3:00pm, Sunday 24 May – Rockdale Ilinden Sports Centre

It’s a huge day for the hosts who will have a number of its past stars set to attend as part of Rockdale’s promo on recognising its former players.

I wonder if Urocevski is going to show up.
