A-League Women/Matildas transfers and delistings

Katrina Gorry leaving West Ham at season's end upon falling out of contract after choosing to decline a contract extension in the best interests of her family despite being offered a new contract by the club.
Family reasons sounds like she’s coming home. Good for the A-League but I feel like she had another season or two in Europe left in her.

Maybe Brisbane Roar knew about this and that’s why she was asked about coming back in an interview a while back.

Sam Kerr is leaving Chelsea at season's end upon falling out of contract, ending a six-and-a-half year stint at the club where she scored 115 goals in 157 appearances and became the all-time top scorer for the side in the WSL. Her last match for them will be on the last matchday of the WSL season at home against Manchester United on Saturday.

Saw this the morning. Expected it but wow end of an era.

Taylor Ray was at Melbourne Airport today per Instagram! 👀
Taylor Ray possibly falls out of contract at Melbourne Victory at season's end so might be moving elsewhere but bear in mind also that the Dub is now in the offseason so players are starting to go on vacation as well.

Going off Sienna Saveska’s story she seems to be saying she’d miss her (though it could just be an extended holiday or seeing her family back in Townsville). I’d take a guess and say that she’s staying but Taylor Ray’s leaving. In saying that though the departure might not be overseas as flying is also the most efficient way to go to any interstate club from Melbourne.

Such intrigue! 🤓😁

A Mexican outlet is reporting that Emily Gielnik could be leaving Monterrey after just one season in the Liga MX Femenil.
If Emily Gielnik is in fact being delisted by Monterrey at season's end then I won't be surprised if she ends up announcing her retirement from all association football not long after given that she's already 34 years of age and likely won't want to extend her career further.

You’d think she’d wanna retire at home though rather than in Mexico.

Cortnee Vine leaves NC Courage.

The OG announcement couldn’t even spell her name right (they called her Corntee) ffs. Wasted a great talent on the bench for two years for her to miss the Asian Cup and FIFA Series. Ridiculous waste of time.

Cortnee Vine only made 22 appearances across her two years of service time for North Carolina Courage, scoring two goals for them also.
Does the FA track the wellbeing of Matildas players as they move forward in their careers or are they just left to deal with whatever happens. Football Australia are good at hyping players but I wonder what happens when a player is no longer on the ‘front page’.

They clearly don’t manage players well otherwise we wouldn’t have so many defections or youngsters being snubbed.

Exactly, that’s insane. The Courage weren’t even that good last season, they missed the playoffs meaning they were in the bottom half of the league.

North Carolina Courage were in contention to make the NWSL playoffs on the last day of the home and away season last year but ended up missing out altogether due to other results not going their way though.
