I fly in on the 10th. Got a mate there who sold me tickets for the game. My cousin and I are staying with his Mum in North Vancouver. I don’t know where to drink, relying on my mate for that. When do you arrive? Got tickets?

I thought I would share this map for anyone heading to Vancouver. The entrance gates for BC Place are on the opposite side of the stadium from downtown and they are requiring supporters to walk around to get to them. There are three subway stations near the ground (including one that actually services the ground), but with this set up they are asking people to go to Science World/Main Street station which is not on a subway line that is particularly convenient for anyone travelling from downtown or coming from the airport area (which is another area with numerous hotels). For any of you that went to Qatar, this convoluted way of accessing the stadium is consistent with how FIFA does things. It’s maddening that in Vancouver you have a stadium in the heart of the city centre and numerous hotels 200-300m from the gates and instead you have to walk 2 km around the stadium to enter. I know it's for security reasons, but I don't think they are doing a good job of sharing this information since no one that has been to BC Place would ever plan to get there in this manner.

So this might complicate pre-match drinking. There are a lot of good options around Granville and Robson (the Lennox Pub being a traditional one on match days, but also Dublin Calling and the Red Card) since supporters traditionally match down Robson St. But given the set up it probably makes more sense to be in Gastown. There’s a handful of pubs near Water St. and Carrall and a little square at the intersection and then it’s not a terribly long walk up Carrall to get into the queue to get into the stadium.

Security first but it's ridiculous how they potentially bottleneck things. I suppose at full time people can exit in multiple directions as clearing everyone at once is a harder job?

My investigation into this suggests that Main Street-Science World station is in fact a metro station (subway) on the Expo line. Not that it makes any real difference to your info and suggestions. Thanks for posting this info.
 
Turkey take a very early lead against North Macedonia. A nice cut back pass after rudimentary try skilled triangle passing. It's the type of cutback ball that Irvine and O'Neill get caught watching and perfectly between the lines.

These opponent friendlies aren't nice as their passing game is so fluent while we give the ball up too early.
 
2:0 Turkey. Uzun and slightly poor keeping but they've got a blueprint of running down and the opponent holding off and then a pass back and shot.

Devlin must start the first 2 games or we give O'Neill some kind of drug because he won't be shutting these things down.
 
Turkey leaving some space in between the lines so this is where we need Irankunda and Volpato to come in.

Big issue against Mexico was the moment the front 2 got the ball, our mods weren't advancing so we had no use of the gaping 10 space.
 
4:0 Turkey. North Macedonia have been terrible. Same type of goal again. We'll identify this with video analysis. I think our midfield is in for hell. They'll drag them wide or high and then cut back into the space.
 
Listened to Montella’s pre game interview - his reasoning for playing Macedonia was due to they play a very similar style to Australia. Wouldn’t be surprised if they line up fairly similar in the opener in terms of tactics, formation etc.

4-0 win might sound convincing however, looking at the Macedonia side this morning it seemed more like an experimental team including a fair few debutants.

They didn't really turn up. Disinterested in an end of season friendly. In saying that they left spaces in midfield for the goals that concerns me Irvine and O'Neill will also do.
