That is the sad reality of it.

Since 2016, we have played in 3 straight losing grand NPL finals. It is only the 2 Australia Cup semi final appearances, 2 Dockerty Cups wins, and the Australian Championship win that has softened the blow.

We need to win the NPL Victoria competition and 11th State Championship.

Exactly, we need silverware otherwise we risk becoming an irrelevant club like the Heidelberg united tribes of Florina with their cabinet full of shields and plates and trophies for U15s girls tournaments. ....

Unless they postpone to 'a date to be announced'.

Agree that we need at least one piece of domestic silverware this season to go with our OFC Pro League title should we go all the way in that competition so our men's team has something to show for all their efforts this year.

'Plenty of time'? Ummmmm .... our definition of this term appears to differ.

I would have thought FV needs to make a decision early this week. We are playing George Cross on Monday!
 
I think 2 matches postponed is doable, anything more and probably not. Club probably didnt care about bergers game being an away game, but these are 2 home games and trotting out our youth really isnt acceptable.
 
Given Heidelberg was the home team, it would have been too difficult to request a postponement. However, the next two matches are Hellas home fixtures, so we probably have a fighting chance to seek a postponement. We can argue the point that we are in a semi final and potential grand final, hence requiring matches to be postponed. Hellas did not requested postponements for regular OFC Pro League matches.

I think we do have sufficient time. A decision can be made by tomorrow which still provides sufficient time for the two clubs to make alternative arrangements if required.

Catch up fixtures have been played during the Dockerty Cup semi final and grand final windows previously from memory, so it is doable. It all comes down to whether those teams are participating in the Dockerty Cup.

Can be applied for with the written consent of both clubs, I dont even believe it needs to be done before certain cutoff, can be done hours before the match. It would need Georgies and Avondale to play ball. Heidelberg would NEVER have even if approached.

Decision would rest with Football VIC as always though... They don't deem lack of coaching staff or players an excuse, we aren't Oakleigh.

The other teams will tell you to fuck off, and rightly so. The OFC tournament only benefits one team.

I agree... TBH, the only one who would have benefited from postponing their match was Heidelberg purely from the perspective that they missed out maybe another 1k fans pilling in and spending money on a Friday night... our turnout was abysmal and their, toothless, peasant scum is only 200-300 strong anyway... but they were happy celebrating a win, ANY WIN, against us...
