yer well its obvious that KW but as said - you can get cheap online return flights talking Perf Syd.
Just pointing this out as well instead of justifying distance is the hurdle - its the mindset more than anything of many especially here always excuse's.

Melbourne to Brisbane 1,770km, Melbourne to Perth 3,331km………hell of a lot more than 900km right?
Flights from Melbourne (MEL) to Perth (PER) are available for as low as approximately USD 143–$183 for one-way tickets,
Monaco to Brest approx 1/2 the distance at 1500km , Flights from Monaco (using Nice NCE airport nearby) to Brest (BES) generally cost around $150–$350+ for a one-way trip

whats your point again?

French fans are paying the same cost to fly half the distance is my point and yet travel they do for away days.. Just like AFL tragics come streaming across the desert in their cars or swamp Adelaide every gather round.

Geographic distance is an EXCUSE, not the REASON we dont have pro/rel in Australia.

Nobody said it’s the one reason we don’t have pro/rel in Australia, it definitely is a factor/excuse though.

I thought I'd have a bit of fun on Le Foot this week...

Bon appétit....
Hurry up and write that bloody novel.. Youv'e even made me salivate and I grew up with cooking that puts this French shite to shame  .... Wonderful turn of phrase as always... but most importantly what a great topic for a piece.. At its essence the food we eat standing up, in our most vulnerable moments as men, is what we find most comfort and joy in.

I've been watching a lot of Lens's games this season and have been hugely impressed by this team....

But there's a lot more to this football club than what happens on the pitch.

RC Lens is a passionate football club deeply rooted in the working-class mining heritage of northern France. Its fans, stadium, and symbols proudly celebrate the region's tough industrial history and strong community spirit.

And the mining heritage of the Lens region in northern France's Pas-de-Calais department is a proud part of France's great industrial history.

So I thought I'd write up an article for my Le Foot blog about the club's historic relationship with the local miners and mining industry.....

For anyone seeking a better understanding of the historical and cultural atmosphere of French football here's 5 English language books to read....

Fuck Dijon

Definitely a problem in the Arkema Première Ligue and the broader professional women's structure in France. Every club bar the big 2 or 3 face ongoing financial and investment challenges, even as the women's game grows globally. Bringing investment through the doors is harder than ever....

There's not much in the way of TV money and sponsorship and the crowds can often be mediocre.

The LFFP with the full professionalisation in 2024 are attempting to address these issues, but sustainable independent investment remains something they have little control over. The situation is evolving and professionalisation is helping a bit, but breaking this cycle of underfunding will take time.

The Dijon mens team have just been promoted to Ligue 2 from N1 and it's going to need some serious money to compete at that level.

I don't know what the answer is with this one. The cost of running women's football teams isn't particularly high but there's still a cost!

That doesn’t mean the women’s team should be forced to essentially fold and get treated like shit. The financial losses are lower than what the president is claiming according to the players.

Edit: for those wondering, yes this Kyah Simon’s current club. No, she doesn’t play very often.

On my Le Foot blog we take a look at some of the amazing Brazilian footballer who have graced Ligue Un over the years....

Juninho Pernambucano's time at Lyon was one of the greatest stories in European football history.....

It had almost everything: a perhaps at the time, an unfashionable club that had never won the league before, a relatively unknown Brazilian midfielder arriving from Vasco da Gama, and then seven straight Ligue 1 titles — a record of dominance that still feels astonishing even in this era of the supercharged PSG!

Un véritable magicien du ballon!!
