2025-26 A-League Women — finals series matches

Daisy Brazendale and Zoe Benson coming on at the half in extra time for Wellington Phoenix, replacing Pia Vlok and Makala Woods respectively.
 
Zara Kruger yellow carded in the 111th minute in extra time for Brisbane Roar for a foul, becoming the second Brisbane Roar player and second player overall to receive one this match.
 
Victoria Esson yellow carded in the 116th minute in extra time for Wellington Phoenix for time wasting, becoming the first Wellington Phoenix player to receive one this match.
 
Macey Fraser coming on in the first minute of second half stoppage time in extra time for Wellington Phoenix, replacing Emma Pijnenburg.
 
Wellington Phoenix ran out 2-0 winners over Brisbane Roar after extra time in their A-League Women semi-final second leg game at Porirua Park courtesy of a brace of goals from Makala Woods in the 42nd minute in regulation time and 102nd minute in extra time respectively to win their tie 3-2 on aggregate. The result sees Wellington Phoenix advance to the Dub grand final next week in their debut finals series campaign, where they'll face Melbourne City at AAMI Park on Saturday, May 16th with the match kicking off at 4:15pm AEST, in addition to becoming the first New Zealand side ever to reach an A-Leagues grand final.

I'll.go to town on my own club that's pretty weak for a derby semi final. Like the club doesn't really care if people attend I'm surprised victory didn't do anything. Both clubs could do better let's be honest.

Did Wellington do anything different to get those people in?

Roar got a huge crowd for the first leg too. City have a lot of fans so I don’t know why they don’t turn up. Fans know what the bonuses of going to Dub games (the atmosphere, the food, the vibes, meeting players, meeting other fans, having a good time, etc).

Melbourne City heading into the A-League Women grand final on Saturday with an unchanged playing list as Danella Butrus is back at full fitness for the three-time Premiers, having recovered from her concussion sustained during the under-20 Women's Asian Cup whilst on international duty with the Young Matildas and subsequently missing both legs of their Dub semi-final against Melbourne Victory. Chinaza Uchendu remains unavailable for Melbourne City as she's serving the fourth and final match of her suspension, along with Kaya Jugovic, Izabella Rako and Keira Sarris, who have not yet returned from China following the Junior Matildas' under-17 Women's Asian Cup campaign. Wellington Phoenix also head into the Dub grand final with an unchanged extended squad from their semi-final second leg win over Brisbane Roar after extra time last week.
