2025-26 A-League Women — finals series matches

Holly McNamara yellow carded in the second minute of second half stoppage time for Melbourne City for a foul, becoming the first Melbourne City player to receive one this match.

Melbourne City ran out 1-0 winners over Melbourne Victory in their A-League Women semi-final second leg game, with Shelby McMahon scoring the only goal of the match in the 34th minute. The result sees Melbourne City win the tie 2-0 on aggregate and means that the Dub grand final will be held at ctrl:cyber Pitch next week as Melbourne City face either Wellington Phoenix or Brisbane Roar depending on how the return leg of the other semi-final pans out tomorrow.

No I couldn't make it. I'll be honest I need to try go to more women's matches
All good, but yeah I really hope more people go to the games and watch our girls overseas. Before anyone points out Sydney FC’s crowd drop that’s because we’ve been getting shit results for two seasons in a row now. City literally have Matildas and Young Matildas on their team.

Somebody on reddit said the club could have organized buses from Richmond to cranbourne. They are right this is what anooys me club makes no effort and we could be doing little things that would make it so much better

I did see that. Why specifically Richmond though? Is that where City fans hang out? In Sydney you’d just get the metro to Moore Park. I suppose Melbourne has the trams.

Malena Mieres was excellent today. Only two years off naturalisation too, wonder if she’ll end up being part of the Matildas setup.

Malena Mieres definitely has the potential but given the selection policy it'll be highly unlikely that she starts between the sticks for the Matildas upon naturalisation and subsequently becoming eligible.

Makala Woods scores in the 42nd minute for Wellington Phoenix in their A-League Women semi-final second leg game to give them a 1-0 lead and level the scores at 2-2 on aggregate. Pia Vlok with the assist.

Makala Woods scores again in the 102nd minute in extra time for Wellington Phoenix to get her brace and extend their lead to 2-0, also giving them a 3-2 lead on aggregate. Brooke Nunn with the assist.
