Did you guys hear the kids singing the team song in the sheds after the 3 nil drubbing from Oakleigh? You can save yourself the psychologist fees they seemed pretty proud to me.

Why would they sing the team song after losing 0-3? Be proud of your efforts and that you contained the opposition to just 3 goals.
 
I think the truth is somewhere in the middle to be honest.. a drumming will for sure demoralise them but it is expected against the bergers (i am of the belief they will take the foot off the peddle after popping a few past us) overall the experience they gain here in the next month can only serve to better them.. im not seeing any other team by choice or otherwise playing boys so the experience alone is a definite plus for each and every one of them if they can take the most put of it ofcourse.... a string of heavy losses defs has the potential to turn the experience into a problem though..

Nothing left now but to see if they lift for the occasion or not ... pull off a miracle and lift thd charity shield and ypu have instant development of the next wave....its exciting and scary stuff at the same time!
 
Bergers will not miss a once in a lifetime to boost their goal difference in a derby against us. Whatever the score is tomorrow will go in the record books, they will not stop until we are humiliated, i dont blame them cos we would do the same.

We need to hope they misfire. They've been averaging 25-30 shots a game at home this year and left a heap of gosls on the table, but the quality of chance they create tomorrow will be far higher.
 
Don’t forget we defeated them to win the Dockerty Cup and knocked them out of the Australian Championship last year. This is their opportunity to extract revenge. They’ll probably never have a better opportunity to inflict a record scoreline against us.

If the shoe was on the other foot, I would want Hellas to win by 20-0.

I can see Heidelberg selling DVDs of the match to celebrate it.

That was such a strange year in that respect.

But are you sure there have not been bigger wins throughout the whole 60+ plus years?

you DO realise that most of these singed up "members" appear out of the blue with a generic name and 1st thing they do in the 5 mins they are here is to select a club, make NO comment and then log off never to sign in again...... someone is "cooking da books" matey nothing more :P
 
Anything under 3-0 loss will be a positive outcome for the kids who will be playing tonight.

Our current goal difference is +6. Lets hope it remains in positive territory by the end of the night.
 
3-0 would be a remarkable effort.

Fear it will go horribly wrong if we faulter early. The key with the Oakleigh game was that the kids held on to half time almost.

What also worries me is that O Sullivan was great marshalling the backline that day and he isnt here.

He was massive that day and showed that he is a future leader. We literally have no experienced player in our backline tonight apart from Skapoulas who may play Left Back role.

The kids have to find a way to try and frustrate Heidelberg and keep the scoreline 0-0 at halftime. It will literally be 11 players behind the halfway line for 90 minutes, so we wont be venturing too far up to create scoring opportunities.

It really annoys me that we have left ourselves so exposed. It could have been so easily remedied by retaining O'Sullivan, Inglese, Coveny, Lackay, Singh, Pope, Menelaou, and Mesorouni. As you have said @southmelb - its one thing to do it against Altona Magic, its another thing to do it against Heidelberg.
 
I never realised how futile tonight's match would be. Maybe we should just forfeit completely? Just tell them we cant come out to play tonight because we are afraid of Real Heidelberg Heights. I mean we lost the Dockerty cup on paper and the Championship semi on paper,.. why even bother playing football matches at all if the scoreline is set in stone before hand?

This is silly, we were underdogs in the dockerty cup and even money in the championship semi. We did not role out a youth team in either game.
