2025/26 UEFA Champions League

why does Arsenal get so much hate, i don't understand...
Much of the hate which is directed at Arsenal is due to the tactical style Mikel Arteta is implementing at the side as well as their reputation as perennial underachievers who are prone to bottling the league and European competition, in addition to their perception by fans and journos as nearly men.

Their fans are annoying. While some on the channel have a basic amount of sense (basic because supporting Arsenal requires some level of mental insanity), a lot of AFTV is just complete rubbish so their fans get fed heaps of slop and delusion to the point where they end up making horrible takes like “Declan Rice starts over prime Gareth Bale” (he’s not half the player Gareth Bale was and isn’t even as good as guys like Jude Bellingham or Cole Palmer), “Bukayo Saka will win the Ballon d’Or” (he’s not even in that conversation), “David Raya is better than prime Manuel Neuer” (he doesn’t even start for Spain let alone compare to one of the best goalies in history), “Alessia Russo is the greatest striker of all time” (she couldn’t even win the WSL Golden Boot in her own right when Bunny Shaw was injured), etc.

Furthermore football fans really dislike Mikel Arteta’s haramball tactics as it makes for really boring football, and it’s led them to come close to winning stuff but barely ever actually doing so. It’s also hard to take the club seriously that they’ve kept him over better managers even though he’s won just two trophies (an FA Cup with Unai Emery’s squad and a Community Shield) despite massive spending, especially they way they got a club legend in Arsène Wenger out. Oliver Glasner has equaled that with Crystal Palace in less time.

no matter arse making the finale I just can't see them stopping either BM or PSG.......
Some interesting comments/stats back on the discussion EPL falling off the cliff this season compared to say PSG/BM.
Now you will see why - as quoted PSG have a coasting league to play in and far less games.
In some ways BM have as well.
Its interesting.
EPL players many more player minutes played.
● The Minutes Gap: Neves would need to play nearly 22 consecutive 90-minute matches just to reach Rice's time on the pitch.
● The Distance Gap: To catch Rice's 350.34 km, Neves would need to run almost five full marathons.
● The Acceleration Gap: Rice has accelerated almost 900 more times than Neves over the course of the campaign.

If we go back four years and compare the minutes for Bayern and PSG to the two English clubs who made the Champions League semifinals that year, it's the same -- if not more extreme. The chart cuts the minutes off at the beginning of May because neither Bayern nor PSG made the semifinals that season:

also as mentioned in this article barring Arse every other EPL club in the CL this season were in various degrees of mess.
Not doubting everything you say is true & the stats & facts you are given are also true.

However, while the Man city & Liverpool of a few years back were exceptional teams, these two teams Bayern Munich & to a greater extent PSG, they are playing the best football I have seen since the heyday of RM & especially Barcelona of the 08/18 period.

go make sense of the handball rule or rules.

it's the biggest flaw in our game.
You can argue the handball rules that is another debate, but in the rules of the game it was not a handball.

Now the argument of handball in the box & giving a penalty, do you give it automatically for all handballs in the box, intentional or not.
Do you give a handball penalty when there is a clear disadvantage to the attacking team is another argument.

yer interesting outlook, no doubt they are great PSG/BM.
Reminds me of the City/LFC rivalry end to end play/skill levels, pace, using flanks etc....
Infact watching the build up play of PSG's and Dembele finish from the quick touchs run down the flank - cut back ball was copy book LFC/Klopp play.
I see many similarities when its titan teams like PSG/BM right now or LFC/City in their peaks, those games we're electric from start to finish evry single time - why Pep always has said Klopp/LFC were his biggest/best challenge.
Barca of that time were the front runners hands down imo compared to RM, they borught the tika tacka as we know and then Pep influenced City's play + cheq book and LFC met the challenges as did RM against Barca at their peak.
I know its not to your pov the beauty of viva la difference.

I think its Arteta - how he behaves on the sideline over the years.
I also think most neutrals like to jump on the choker band wagon.
Then you have the high ground arrogance they have towards Spudz.

So - who's tipping who winning the finale ?
Can anyone see PSG get done ?
Are we going to see a outcome what happened to Inter ?
Got to say I really don't think the arse is that good yet here we are, league title most likely and CL final.

I think PSG have too many weapons.

Arsenal will have to dominate the ball, slow down the game and restrict a transitional game as much as possible. PSG thrive on transitional football and chaos.

tend to agree r l.
Doubt they can hold the ball for long periods, they can slow down all they want by fouls more than anything I reckon but once PSG have possession they'll be out played/monouevered.
I predict a Inter type smashing.

PSG to win, let’s say 2–1. Wish PSG vs Bayern was the final. No way will they win 5–0 again though, that was insane.

For the women’s I’m saying 2–1 to Lyon over Barça after extra time.

HSF your actually giving your foe neighbours some cred there......
I find it interesting when you cross over the league ladders of Bunda/Lique1/EPL BM having GF 116 with 2 to play mind boggling they couldn't finish PSG who have GF of 70 and Gooners @ GF 67.
All 3 within coowee GA.
I won't say no way 5zip like the Inter game but I just can't see Goons giving them the fight till the end @ close scores.
Arteta can't afford parking the bus but to soak some pain for sometime but when they open up all I see is crucifiction.
Look at their RB choice say its White - vs Khvicha, <<<< this guy doesn't get enough cred when I watch, White's defense will only be to foul him imo.

I think PSG will find Arsenal's direct style at set pieces difficult to contain but Luis Enrique is a master tactician and he's faced Arsenal before this season. He's historically been pragmatic rather than over-specializing on one threat. He’s said things like preparing set-pieces the same way they did against other strong sides (eg Liverpool), mixing short and direct corners based on what hurts the opponent most, and relying on his squad's overall quality and adaptability rather than purely defensive drills for Arsenal's style.

Enrique has shown flexibility a lot in the CL by adjusting marking and using midfielders cleverly, and gambling with line positioning to disrupt his opponents build-up. Andbit goes without saying that PSG have tools in attack to punish Arsenal on transitions if the Gunners commit too many bodies forward for set-pieces.....

2-1 to PSG aet

popular 2-1 coming through.
Is Arse that good ? are they that better than BM ? not that they are the bar per say but their season has been damn strong.
Gooners got over the line vs Atleti - just over the line.
Atleti are a bar below who we're talking about be it BM/PSG right now.
Can't see it, r l, they will bottle up Rice for I agree, Gooners need him on fire plain and simple but he'll get smothered knowing Enrique.
Saka needs to get ball.
As F u l quotes, he changes their game to close opponents attack and weapons.
Look at BM, 116 goals in the league, they choked them in the end.
Their GK Safonov is pretty good as well.
