2025/26 UEFA Champions League

yes mate that overdue catch up when your ready......
Talking team domination/synergy I agree the Barca Messi tenure were one of the best ever especially the 2 midfielders mentioned incl that backline.....feck all of them.
The game was very different comparing of todays game last 10yrs as we know..
Xavi's passing stats are impeccable backed by the countless Individual awards - Iniesta wow the work rate and vision.
Modric another classic of the days play - impeccable.
I don't see Vitinha is their level imo no doubt he's great and his league stats this season show 1goal< that no matter but 7assists (you'd expect more), he plays deep then moves up maybe more like a fav of mine Pirlo.
The LFC tenure the mids were focussed on pressing whereas it was the time of wingbacks - TAA/Robbo, 12/11 assists respectively in the league, haven't even incl the CL/Cup assists.
So entirely different game approachs.
I know I expect a return response no doubt about it hahaha

Arsenal ran out 1-0 winners over Atletico Madrid in their Champions League semi-final second leg game courtesy of a goal to Bukayo Saka in the 44th minute to win their tie 2-1 on aggregate and advance to the final in Budapest on Saturday, May 30th local time against either defending champions PSG or Bayern.

Arsenal being able to maintain their track record of clean sheets and 1-0 wins in the modern era is very impressive I have to say.

It's not an easy thing to do, given how keeping the ball is the new "compact and tight".

I do think if Bayern get over the line against PSG, then Harry Kane scoring the winner in the final is written in the stars.

will you be cheering them on this weekend against West Ham?
If we win? Nah. If we lose? Yeah.

The ideal outcome is Spurs win AND West Ham win, so Spurs stay up, West Ham go down and Arsenal don’t win the league. Still pissed that Villa bottled it so hard so now it’s just bloody City again. Hope City win the WSL too (they’re very very close), my hate for Arsenal extends to all levels of the club and Gooners are annoying in the men’s and women’s game. They won’t shut up about the UWCL for years to come.

no matter arse making the finale I just can't see them stopping either BM or PSG.......
Some interesting comments/stats back on the discussion EPL falling off the cliff this season compared to say PSG/BM.
Now you will see why - as quoted PSG have a coasting league to play in and far less games.
In some ways BM have as well.
Its interesting.
EPL players many more player minutes played.
● The Minutes Gap: Neves would need to play nearly 22 consecutive 90-minute matches just to reach Rice's time on the pitch.
● The Distance Gap: To catch Rice's 350.34 km, Neves would need to run almost five full marathons.
● The Acceleration Gap: Rice has accelerated almost 900 more times than Neves over the course of the campaign.

If we go back four years and compare the minutes for Bayern and PSG to the two English clubs who made the Champions League semifinals that year, it's the same -- if not more extreme. The chart cuts the minutes off at the beginning of May because neither Bayern nor PSG made the semifinals that season:

also as mentioned in this article barring Arse every other EPL club in the CL this season were in various degrees of mess.

Still bizarre that Michael Olise picked France despite being born and raised in England to a Nigerian British father and an Algerian French mother. He says he’s proud of all of his heritage though and had a connection to the Bleus since he was a kid.

Has to be a pen. If it was Spurs they wouldn’t give it though lol (we haven’t had a single pen this season but we def shoulda).

Edit: NO PEN?!

PSG and Bayern played out a 1-1 draw in their Champions League semi-final second leg game after Harry Kane scored the equaliser in the fourth minute of second half stoppage time to cancel Ousmane Dembele's goal in the third minute of the match. The result sees PSG win the tie 6-5 on aggregate and advance to the final where they'll face Arsenal.
