Ah well, I suppose it wasnt meant to be back to back to back for the Dockerty.. I hope someone new wins it this year then.

Kudos to Bulleen for taking the Dockerty seriously.. Eternal shame on us...
Even after getting knocked out of the Dockerty Cup we still have a chance at winning the Hahn Australia Cup proper which is arguably a greater achievement for South Melbourne and gives us a pathway to Asian continental football also.

Don't care. Dockerty cup is nearly 120 years old and we are current cup holders... Last night pissed on all of the previous 10 Dockerty cup winning Hellas squads throughout out history.... Im ashamed of us this morning.

Does anyone know how long the Waratah cup has been around for in NSW?

120 years for the Dockerty Cup is huge.

Started in 1909 so 117 year although it was "in recess" in the 90s and early 2000s a few times for various reasons. Still the most prestigious cup we have down here (in my eyes anyway).

I reckon 99% of the Victorian posters on here that have ever played the game would have played at least one Dockerty match in their careers.

Is that confirmed yet? I may have been living under a rock and didn't hear confirmation about Heidelberg yet.
Waratah cup started in 1957.

so almost 70 years old.
Something like that - but there was a big gap in it not running though - I was trying to capture with my historical look back to 1971, but can't remember it off the top of my head

South Melbourne will be more likely to meet the AFC club licensing requirements than Heidelberg United so they could still represent Australia in continental football as winners of the Hahn Australia Cup but nothing has been confirmed yet with regards to our AFC Champions League Two representatives.

Embarrassing stuff by South last night. Fielded such a weak line up when all we had to do was play 3-4 senior players and that would have been enough against an in-form Bulleen side. Now we have one less piece of silverware to compete for. Some of these second string players are simply not good enough.
