There's been a bit of talk on the Big Ange thread about how Glasgow Rangers and Celtic would go in the English Premier League.

Not ever likely to happen of course but it made me think of the proposed Atlantic League.

For anyone unfamiliar with the concept "The Atlantic League" was league for successful clubs from smaller European nations (like Scotland, Netherlands, Belgium) to compete regionally. The goal was to increase revenue and competitiveness to bridge the gap with Europe's "Big Five" leagues (England, Spain, Germany etc.) ...

It's certainly not for me but there's always been plenty of football fans who found this interesting proposal to have legs, so to speak...

It's a nice idea however if they had done it before the European Super League debacle then they may have been able to sneak in however these days UEFA wouldn't allow it.

Scandinavian league is what’s needed. Sweden, Norway, Finland. Just makes sense.

It would be great to see Denmark as part of that too.

That would be a league worth having.

There’s a decent number of reasonable teams in that lot to make it a sizeable league, bigger than Belgium, Switzerland or Austria and maybe on par with the Netherlands.

That name is a bit of a stretch, all but one of the countries isn't actually on the Atlantic.

North Sea League would be more appropriate.
