Just on Saudi Arabia - very strong rumours they will drop to 10 to 12 stadiums.

Not that it matters patj re SA, whatever they do it will be sensational - I travel there a bit and the young King is developing fantastic infrastructure and awesum building designs/malls/freeways plus its very clean - the bad is no alcohol, bugga being there for more than a week haha.

I mean they weren’t a federal government but NSW state governments have put a fair bit of time and funding into the 2015 Men’s Asian Cup, 2023 Women’s World Cup and 2026 Women’s Asian Cup. Still wish they did upgrades on McDonald Jones though so Newcastle coulda hosted games in those tournaments. Contrast this to the Victorian government who royally fucked the 2026 Commonwealth Games (not a football event but still).

A Men’s World Cup bid is a lot more difficult to a Women’s World Cup bid, since there’s more required money and investment involved and everyone wants to host it (after all, it’s the biggest sporting event in the world and billions watch it). Unfortunately it would be very hard for us to get it due to (as you said) FIFA corruption. With the current rotation system involving confederations rather than subconfederations, 2038 will definitely be another American World Cup (possibly another joint bid with Canada and Mexico plus maybe somewhere else). I hope 2038 is involves more of Central America and the Caribbean.
look its futile re anything womens, were talking the BIG picture for both football NT's and for development generations ahead forget WC future bids and mention of Macca Stad, get the golden arch's to sponser you'll have a reno done in no time :).
Yes NSWGov provided $7M for the recent WACup you would know.

IF they can't stump up $10/15M contribution for a NT COE it would be baffling eh.
As Arnie has expressed for some years its a friggin joke !
We're the biggest NT of the nation to the biggest game globally, not the women the Mens, facts and no disrespect.
HTF W have got this and that through the rising fad is all politcal grandstanding sorry thems the facts.

The bias in favour of the Matildas is not surprising. Women's sport in general is seen as the political correct thing to do so funding has been made available for the Bundoora Centre and the SK Centre.
While they have built those they still haven’t done what they said they’d do for women’s soccer. Most of that money for women’s sport after the World Cup went to the AFLW and NRLW.

I am being pedantic but Mohammed bin Salman ( MBS)is the Crown Prince and it is his father Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud who is the King. However MBS is the defacto ruler and is using the country's vast oil wealth to build that infrastructure you have seen .It is a pity he sent an assassination squad to kill the journalist Khashoggi and and cut his body up into little pieces which has has shown his malevolent side.

The media push both the AFLW and the NWRL so the pollies can win easy brownie points by funding them to the exclusion of women's football.
Which is sad cause more people can name Matildas players than even men’s AFL/NRL players. Plenty of NRL fans wouldn’t know who the AFL’s poster boy Nick Daicos is (similarly plenty of AFL fans wouldn’t know who the NRL’s poster boys Nathan Cleary and Reece Walsh are), but we all know who Sam Kerr is and we all know she scores goals.
