Nestory Irankunda has also had nine yellow cards this season in addition to his red card, including back-to-back yellow cards in mid-January and doesn't really rank highly compared to other players in the same position in the comp percentile-wise.
I've had a quick look and 7 out of 9 yellow cards we're 75 mins or late with the majority being in added time which suggests he was slowing the opponent down at the death and refs give cards very lightly at that stage of the match.

It would be more concerning if it were in the first half because that makes him a sub risk.

Still thats only 2 weeks of suspension in a 46 game season. He needs to improve but its surely its not a huge deal? No different to someone who misses 2 weeks due to illness or injury

I get confused about the problems with discipline

Sure its not ideal, but it corresponds to what, 1 red card in a 46 game season?
Yes but there watching him on the pitch every game. They’d be picking up on a lot more off the ball etc.

Tbh I think some of the criticism rings a little true. He’s a crazy athlete but not enough end product at this moment. Not a super smart footballer.

Wonder what h
Good to see toure back

Was reading Watford forums about Irankunda. They a really don’t like him. Overwhelming negative view.

British fans are fickle and over the top. If he has a couple of good games they'll completely flip and act like he's the next coming of Jesus.

I remember when middlesbrough was going through a rough patch and the forums were saying that Mcgree was terrible and needed to be sent away.

Yeah he is making the level but not yet exceeding it

Id love to produce 20 year olds that could exceed the level at his age, but unfortunately we arent there yet.

Probably he is a good chance to improve the next couple of years

Sounds like football fans in general! 😂

One minute they calling someone useless then the next minute they’re chanting ‘there’s only one’ etc 😂

One user even said, and I quote:

"One of the most unlikeable players I've seen in a Watford shirt. He has a huge ego, but his talent is massively overrated. He's the kid from school who can dribble past everyone in the school yard, but once you get him on a football pitch he doesn't know what to do. So he compensates with petulance, moaning and lashing out. Every time he gets the ball he tries to dribble five or six players, and every time it fails. On the rare occasion when he tries to pass the ball he plays it straight to an opponent, then throws his arms up in the air and stands there sulking like a kid who's just lost his candy.

Pezzolano called him out when he subbed him at 35 minutes at Portsmouth and was sacked seven days later. Says everything you need to know about our football club."

Exactly, plus forums aren’t always an accurate representation of the majority of fans’ views.

Fans always need a scapegoat.
Yeah it’s just unfortunate that Aussie players cop it so much. Last season at Spurs Women it was all about how bad Hayley Raso was when in reality our style of play didn’t work and we had too many old players, but she still left because she was unhappy with how the club treated her.

I suppose the idea that players from non-major footballing countries aren’t as good as ones from major footballing countries is still rife in the Big Five European leagues.

Hmm Sociedad player leaning into Ryan on a corner while another can head it in. No rule against standing in the way. It's just right in the run and catch path of the keeper. Such cases have been blown the other way before.
