I understood what you wrote, but to put the shock of Italy missing out with Greece is like saying.

I’ve loved Football 360’s emergence for free info on my Facebook feeds after losing old free sites like The Australian and Fairfax to paywalls without subscribing to them.

I've enjoyed Football 360. I like it that they're positive about the game. But there are times they need to be more than a fan boy.

I think they leaned into the vilification that Segecic received after changing associations and I thought it was poor from them.

They haven't interrogated the reasons our dual nationals have left and that's a missed opportunity if they want to be serious imo.

It frustrates me that there isn't heat on the FA about this from the bigger media networks. Only the podcasters are talking about those deeper reasons and solutions.

I wonder if the powers that be have more leverage over access than in the past?
 
The Aussie Game podcast highlighted that a lot of the goals we concede come through our left side. They pointed to our LCBs as the cause, highlighting a lack of leg speed with Rowles and Burgess. I guess it's also true there can be space in behind Bos on transition. I wonder if we need to tweak anything here.

burgess has also made about half a dozen errors leading to a goal the last 18 months for the roos

Absolutely. At the moment I would have Behich at LWB with Bos at LW. If Farrell had not missed so much time and now playing out of position at WSW it would probably be him. When we play minnows Bos is fine but he does leave us open and against the top teams at a World cup that will be an issue.

I'm okay with the defensive risks playing Bos at LWB. He offers so much more and is critical to the teams chances imo. In this system I think he needs to be LWB because he needs to be wide. At LF he would need to invert and would be less effective.

My starting point would be how to cover that risk which is really only there on transition. Some thoughts: more pace at LCB, more focus on left sided defensive coverage from our DM, Metcalfe at LF who can track back and cover.

A combination of him and metcalf is pretty hard to break down

Like the Socceroo games, but not staying in Melbourne. Wish they played them in Geelong.

Like I asked EZ, did you attend the Cameroon game, live, in Sydney? You don't have not doing the ironing as an excuse!

I'm an old retired fart as well but I've managed to attend every home Socceroos game since the start of the AFC 3rd round (missed the games against Bangladesh and Palestine but attended both Lebanon games in round 2). Will try and keep that up as long as I stay healthy enough.
