Getting it started based on feedback in other thread. Thread title will be updated in due course. If anyone doesn't like the title formatting feel free to request changes. Some like the name Australia while others are fine with Socceroos and others just don't care.

Turkey were effective enough against Romania but Kosovo were impressive against Slovakia. It'll be a good game to decide who we face.

Keep it as Socceroos. The team’s official name is the Socceroos (as are all our national all our national teams’ nicknames except the cricket teams) and I think everyone calls us the Socceroos unless they’re a foreigner unaware of national team nicknames.
 
Kosovo are just full of Hrustic Rogic types that can score at will. Their defensive vulnerabilities are there.

Turkey are tricky as there's a certain discipline and individual attacking skill.
 
Playing Kosovo would be closest to play Saudi Arabia but without the feebleness and more offensive bite. There'd be a lot of running and space afforded. I'd fear we'd bank on our defence and the trouble is they'd score if they got down there. We'd need to have our own early attack play too.
 
I didn't realise Turkey had only qualified twice for the world cup. They'll be pumped to make it.
 
Turkey still leading Kosovo 1-0 in second half stoppage time in their UEFA World Cup qualification path C final and as it stands will qualify for the World Cup, playing the Socceroos in their group D opener.

It was an easy decision for Ersan Gulum to pick Turkey over Australia. But picking the winner in the World Cup match between his two countries is a bit harder.

“An easy decision to pick Turkey over Australia”? Lol Turkey have been to three World Cups in history (counting this one coming). Yes they finished third in 2002 which was an exceptionally impressive run, but the Socceroos regularly qualify.
