Bulldogs Debate Page

Standard of footy is high this year.

Teams are fitter and are showing defensive grit.

Fewer unforced errors and bad passes in attack

No easy games, but tomorrow is one of the easier games.

It upis important to win the ganes we should win, we will have some tough hard to win games.

Knights have come to play got the Dogs measured so far points hard to come by .
Not sure how they will come will need a lot of luck this half .

Disappointing performance. I hope that we can learn a few lessons.

Teams need to play at full intensity for 80 mins and execute.

Many sides seem to be in better form, bht utbus early in the season,

I did half expect a bumpy ride at times this season, but not this game.

I still think thst this is one that we should have won.

You get the odd game like this, hopefully only a few per season.

Cirro might not be happy, reserve grade and flegg won. A couple of reggies guys mjght be a chance next week.

Yeah, one of them WTF performances. No intensity first half and a Galvin mistake led to a kerniggts try. Second half a bit better and again a Galvin mistake broke down an attacking raid. Not blaming the kid but he needs to concentrate on what he's doing. This is one I believe we should have won but the knights had other ideas. On to next week I guess.

Early days but we lacked a bit of pace ln the left edge, Young scored some easy long range tries.

I'll watch a replay, a lot of players just did play well and our defence in the middle in the first half was ordinary.

I already had the feeling that we were starting slower than other sides. Comps are not won in March.

I agree on Galvin, but Tracey also made a few errors and the stats show Critter missing a few tackles.

The tries Burton scored were more or less running as a centre.

I did like the idea of Critter and Kiraz on the left now I am not sure.

I'll watch a replay during the week becuase I missed most of the first half and I want to know what happened.

We were terrible. Were the players out on the piss last night? They certainly didn’t turn up. That’s the worst defensive performance from Critta that I have seen. I could say that for almost every player today.

Tracey and Tuala were good. But our forwards were poor except Toups. At least he had a dig. Very disappointing. That’s two points we might need later in the year.

Teams that have improved this season have learned at bit from what we did last year.

The are fitter and their defencive connection and scramble has improved.

Teams like the Broncos and Panthers aee build on what they have done in previous seasons with settled spines and quality locks with size who can play 80 minutes.

We have some key players out, we probably missed Hayes.

In the fowards what we need is 2 props with size who can play long minutes. At lock we need to find a player with size who can play longer minutes. Salmon leads the line speed, but he isn't a Yeo or Carrigan.

Spine and backline wise we still have players out injured and are trying to find the best combimation. Galvin is still young and inexperienced.

Hopefully we can put the jigsaw together over the course of the season

I am interested in how Underhill went in reserve grade becuase Underhill and Thompson might be the starting prop condination we need.

For lock, i am interested in how Hayes, Curran, Todd, Latu and Hopoi would go.

Seems to me that Hayes ticks a lot of boxes.

If Underhill, Thompson and Hayes were starting King, Toups, Hughes and Salmon could be the 4 specalist bench forwards. With it being Hughes or Salmon most games.

Underhill probably isn't ready.

Backline and spine is similar, we need to think long and hard about the best combination and we may need some injured players back.

How about we cut the number of playmakers to 3 and have some more running backs that threaten the line ?!? FFS so many players sitting out the back off the ball without any genuine attacking bias without ball in hand go back to having genuine forwards hitting the line and a couple of off cusp runners looking to draw off the hip

A big part of why we lost was Toups, Mann, Salmon and Hayward were on when the Knights piled on 2 late trys in the second half.

That is a very small pack, Salmon and Hayward played the entire first half.

We missed Hughes and Hayes, in particular Hayes who might have kept the defence tight. Starting Hopoi backfired when Curran got injured.

Montoya is a bit slow, Kiraz and Mann haven't looked right all seasoj.

Cirro needec a bigger body as an additional interchage Mann should have replaced Hayward.

I left out AJ who must be injured AJ or Hayes on the bench instead of Mann or O'Sullivan or starting instead of Hopoi would have made a differnce.

It is hard to plan for injury especially with a few key players unavailable for selection, but Cirro bungled the bench rotation.
