I assume the concern was micro plastics. That's something that never occured to me before from synthetic pitches.

There needs to be a balance. Regulation can go too far definitely.

In Australia environmental regulation aims for ecologically sustainable development.

Which is to support development provided it maintains ecological systems on which human life depends.

It's basically saying go do your development, you can pollute if you need to, but don't harm human health with air pollution, kill waterways etc.

It's why we have relatively clean air to breath, clean water to drink or to fish in, or so your sleep is protected from industrial noise.

It's easy to say no red tape, but if that balance is wrong you get the air quality of Dehli or the water quality of Jakarta. If it goes too far the other way you focus on shit that doesn't matter and slow stuff down.

I'm grateful we have what we have in Australia, I think we're lucky.
