FIFA 2026 WC - general

Americans are pulling out of a dozen qualified countries... what are the odds they close the borders to football fans from these countries before the WC? Its gonna be a shitshow.

More teams means more exotic matches but what do you think is the most exotic match of the world cup? Is cosmopolitan the word too?

My eyes running down the 2018 draw and the last group of Colombia, Poland, Senegal and Japan was just hot!

Austria Jordan stands out as it's just different.

We could end up with Uzbekistan v Jamaica. I can't wait to find out who gets the last spots.

While being in the EPL doesn't automatically make you better as we've seen with England selection policy in the past, Germany would be wise to pick Janelt, Stach and Schade. They've obviously got their own love affair with their clubs but players like Kimmich and Stiller are arrogant and detrimental due to the comforts afforded to them. Kimmich has stuffed two world cup group stages being the poster boy.

who would replace them if this happens?
There's two ways of thinking with this. I think Iraq is most likely to replace them - given they are the AFC representative for the intercontinental playoffs. However - depends when/if Iran officially pulls out, as the playoffs are in 3 weeks. Could very well be that Iraq gets a free hit at it and still qualify regardless if they lose.

In saying that, if this is organised quickly, UAE would slot in to the AFC playoff spot (and still be ranked high enough to be the seeded team) for the format to work seamlessly.

At a glance it looks like games played in domes are kicking off earlier for the European market especially. It depends where you are in the world I guess.

India to Australia basically gets game time football. Europe gets late evening and through the night.

They should've taken the risk with the heat. I hope it isn't as hot as anticipated to make the games a bit better in a conditioning sense.

I'll give it a read later but Germany YouTube will be showing some world cup games. Whether vpns will be blocked I have no idea. I'll be using SBS a lot too I think.

German rights aren't only on FTA. Telekom got the pay rights for exclusive games including Australia's first. The fear is SBS smarten up and block vpns aggressively while BBC is fine if you have a Scottish located server.

Goodness gracious getting this March squads together is a nightmare - thankfully this coincides with a week I took off around a wedding this weekend.

Of the 62 nations still in World Cup contention that are on Football Life 26 (which is all but Suriname and New Caledonia), 31 of them have announced their squads for this upcoming March window. I have only put together 12 since the Socceroos squad announcement (Socceroos, and focusing on Europe so far)

Talking about this last night. Unfortunately they could charge anything and still pack the stadiums out and they know it.

Just 1% if the world's wealthiest people is 80 million people.

The top 10%, 800 million.

The point being there's more than enough rich people in every country to pay whatever the fuck these cunts charge.
But these super rich people wouldn't dream of having to physically travel or even (save me dear Lord) walk to a stadium with the ordinary people and then have to sit among them. If they watch it at all it'll be on huge screens on their planet-destroying super yachts where servants bring the beers.

Sepp is a corrupt creep. He's still fuming and will do anything to sabotage Infantino's WC 2026. Mind you Gianni Sycophanto Infantino is only marginally less awful than SB
He doesn't need to do anything - Infantino is doing it all by himself.
