This I believe is the big difference, there are those especially on the right who are patriotic & love their country above all others which makes them Nationalistic.
I don't understand that, you were born in that country, what did you achieve to make you great.
I love Australia & my country of heritage Portugal, but I do not think they are better than other countries or that I am better because I was born here.

Yeah I know mate, but what the fuck does a player's political views have anything to do with their desire to play for a certain country. And the discussion turned down the path of Left v Right, so has nothing to do with football at all.

Basic premise is the conversation around whether political view links to patriotism.. Some players just aren't particularly patriotic and dont care which nation they play for and see it as a career progression NOT as a deceleration of love to a flag. ... to each their own I say.

More than happy for both of you to chime in with an opinion and steer the thread towards OTHER reasons you think players aren't selecting Australia over their ancestry .... If you want "relevant" nobody is stopping you from discussing what you feel that is.
