NPL 2026

I dont think anyone is against us competing in the competition mate, just that, because of our lack of resources, we are spreading ourselves too thin to compete effectively in both -- or should I say all 5 comps this year?.
You get to be essentially professional without being beholden to the broke shitshow that is the APL. Many positives here.

Also I've been watching bits and pieces of some of the other teams, even the PNG team was quite decent and could compete quite comfortably at NPL level so it's definitely no walkover for anyone.

a nice change from the debacle that was the championship

the ups and downs of football which what we get immersed with.
Good to see SU back in the mixer and leading from the front.
The outlier near top atm in our comp is StgFC which is what any comp needs for added spice.
The Italians typically up there and APIA pulled off a good late 90m winner v Sutho :)
Just 6 points diff the top 5 clubs on the ladder.

At the bottom SD and Uni got their 1st wins !
Got to say Manly have gone backwards consdiering some good players in the squad and resource.
Sutho not much better to date and with far more investment as we know.

I still think whilst Sydney united have clearly turned it around and made massive improvements on the field, made a very good start etc they haven’t been fully put to the test so far. They’ve not really played many of the teams up the top as of yet. As beretta says, next few weeks will be a good yardstick. Remains to be seen but I doubt the 5 point gap at the top is really representative of the reality

only 7 games, early days and yep as he mentioned next couple will see where they stand.
I was at a function yesterday amongst quite a few one eyed stallionites - some fun banter was had.

You can only play whats infront of you. We played the two promoted teams, two A-league Academy sides, an underwhelming Sutherland side, a poor manly and now Blacktown.

Sydney FC was the toughest game we played in my opinion. Sutherland will not be easy for anyone.
As for blacktown if they didnt get the early red, could of been a different ball game altogether.

Out of curiosity, does anyone understand how Sydney Olympic function as a club in regards to the board. They have an AGM coming up in April, can they vote out the current board and take over?

Same thing happened two weeks ago in SA and the lights have gone out again! They came on 10 minutes later, but then went out again during half time and the match was abandoned.
