The Young Matildas play Japan in just under three weeks from today at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok in their last group stage match of the under-20 Women's Asian Cup so we may well get the job done then.

Emily van Egmond will be gone by April and possibly Montemurro will be given his marching orders, but Caitlin Foord should be more clinical up front going into the next major tournament cycle.

Just got home from my brother's. Missed the post match, but guessing it was more of the, "girls tried their hardest, can't fault the effort, just unlucky"
Drive home gave me lots to think.
1) time to switch out some of the old guard
2) need to build around youth, Mary, and Kyra
3) Foord and Kerr are too reliant on reputation, along with a few others.
4) I wonder if anyone at the FA is pulling strings to demand certain players play

If that is indeed the case at Football Australia then we as fans deserve to be given answers, especially given that the selection policy has robbed us of arguably our best shot at silverware.

Noticed the majority of the Matildas are one-footed apart from Fowler. Professionals should be at least reasonably two-footed unless you have skills like Maradona……..

The team hasn't been announced for the under-20 Women's Asian Cup yet but we'd expect the 23-player final list to be similar to the 25-player squad named for a domestic training camp in February.
Yep. And she’s not fit. Still carrying too much weight. (It’s allowed to say that when talking about professional footballers).

The player who scored tonight was the person she was meant to be marking! She cost us the game by giving her way too much space!
