Trewin and Stensness are probably fighting for a spot if we choose to go with a CB/CM for flexibility. Trewin would be favourite.

This is where they have stronger cards. I've already put Trewin on the next cycle list as we have to try and maximise selections in other positions but I know Popovic will think otherwise. I think Rowles has risen in recent power rankings with Elder injured.

Trewins got to be in Popovic's thinking having been in recent squads and I think he got game time too.

The evidence is there. He did look shaky in his early experiences. Now we have clarity and we'll never know until we try these players. It's the same with Matthews, Gauci and Herrington. The former two survived tough away qualifiers so they'll be fine and now we should get an idea of Herrington.

Remember O'Neill against Ecuador? Such a great debut.

I think he was another who got injured. Good to see him fit and with some form.
