Asian Champions League 1 and 2 thread

After losing in Asia the Bulls just haven’t been mentally not there and are preforming pretty poorly. Maybe this will happen with City or the players will lift amd put it behind them. Let’s see how they go next game.
The effect on professional players of having no supporters should not be underestimated over time.

The Bulls mystify me. Why do their owners keep pouring millions of dollars into such a sorry enterprise?

I can't see a reason for the club's existence. If there is some kind of hypothetical golden future it sure is well hidden.

No offence if any Bulls fans exist in here (do they? Surely not). But they infuriate me as being a complete waste of space. Whenever they beat another team that actually has potential to turn a win into bigger crowds, bigger attention, more support etc etc, it feels pointless. If anything, they get in the way.

It's a interesting point they have quite a good squad as well on paper anyways

Thinking about it, it probably means that they have ruled out NPL teams competing, if the Jets win the Comp.
For this season yeah but I don’t think it rules them out entirely. If Heidelberg won the Australia Cup then they would get the spot. I think giving the spot to the A-League rather than the Australia Cup is just so Asia can line up with Europe, since if cup winners qualify for a higher level of football through the league then the spot goes to the league. For example, if a team qualifies for the Champions League through finishing high enough in the Premier League but that team also wins the FA Cup, their Europa League spot doesn’t go to the FA Cup runners-up, it goes to the league.

HAHAHAHAHAAH this is hilarious, especially after OFC pro league was just played there.

"most pressing the need to source an alternative venue to their home at Olympic Village that meets the criteria to host continental football."

By "continental football" I think he just means AFC. All the federations probably have differing requirements, and I'd have a guess that OFC would have the lowest standards.

It sounds like the venue is just one of the licensing requirements Heidelberg still need to meet. Fingers crossed they get it all done.

The most hilarious thing is that AFC only allows 2 clubs to play out of a stadium so if City and Victory both end up in Asian tournaments this year Heidelberg will have to find a suitable (what did they call it a dogtrack?) venue in Melbourne... hahahahahahah

I wonder if they can play interstate?!
