Here’s a storey and uptake what’s going on with a Aussie I know.
Mentioned about him way back in the other forum.
I played summer 6aside with him a number of years he played for our club for many years.
No diff to us a football fanatic - good player actually and obviously built a good plumbing empire.
This must be hurting him how to correct this….

It always amazes me that rational, hard headed businessmen buy or put large amounts of money into football clubs. Even the guys I know in the Australian football pyramid who have serious money & who invest in football knowing they are never going to get much out of it couldn't explain it.

Yes agree and it varies the type of mindset these well off people are.
Passion is one thing but making money out of it few and far between.
Thankfully incl through the lower level pyrimid as mentioned there are those who keep putting $ in.
 
I just couldn’t what I was saw seeing that live !
A player of his stature losing the plot in a huge game as such.
Mata sure got under his skin with those bants during the game.
 
How much difference do you think a manager makes to a team? So for example if Southampton and Liverpool swapped managers right now would either teams form drop?

In terms of mentality and style a lot. In terms of results it depends. When teams are evenly matched then managers can make the difference
 
This time last year, QPR was at the top of the EFL (championship) and had sights at EPL promotion.

Then they went on a horrible run till May and nearly had to battle it out to avoid relegation. They survived.

This year, they started horribly and were cellar dwellers afew weeks ago. They've since hit a purple patch and are now just below mid-table.

It really is a case of 2 parts to the season.

Hope they continue their run if late and with any luck may still have a chance to sneak into top 6 by end of season.
 
Yes amazing the peaks and valleys vary so much.
Great ol club QPR - main thing at least they still in the championship and not another level below.
Yes hope they make the play offs.
