Golden Boot Race - Aussies Abroad

Suto is an interesting WC option because he's inform and can hit them from range. Gives us something a little different. + Left footed right sided player works in Popovic's system.
Also would be a crazy comeback given people barely knew who he was and that he was eligible for the Socceroos until he went to Hibs.

Which is a shame, really, because the information is out there for anyone interested in looking. I think I'm one of the few people who actually kept tabs on his career before he went to Hibs and, as far as I can recall, I'm the only person who ever reported his match appearances on here while he was playing in Croatia.

I love your updates. Anyone else we should be keeping an eye on?

Not really, that I can think of. Since Rebellious Feminist started providing much more comprehensive updates of Senior players(and some of the more "topical" Youth) than I ever did, I have not taken as much note of the Senior players - whether they were potential Socceroos or not.

I tend to focus now on the Youth players overseas because I think its worthwhile just to try and inform people that these guys are out there, working away quietly at fulfilling dreams/realising potential or just trying to make their way in football. I don't think many of them will probably ever play for the Socceroos but to me, it's just nice to try and give them some recognition.

It's harder to get information about many of them than it is to get information about the Senior players. Which is why my updates can be a bit "hit and miss" at times. Often, the sources of match information either don't update at all or dont update until quite a few days after the match. Which removes a topicality aspect from any reporting and I try to be aware of not giving what might be construed as out-of-date updates.

There's actually quite a long list of Youth overseas who have some sort of connection to Australia and I can only urge anyone interested in finding out about them, to take advantage of the comprehensive records kept by one of the contributors to this Forum, Damian Davies. He is very willing to share his work with anyone interested and we, and Australian Football, are very lucky to have his knowledge available.

The irony that Deni Juric got called up but here you have Tomi doing a bit of late. Older but Popovic knows him very well. Can the squad be 30 so we can have Tete and Tomi in case we need to throw it forward? Our depth is wild.

Tomi hasn’t played for us since 2018 to be fair though.

Jamie Maclaren scored a haul for Mohun Bagan in their 5–1 win over Odisha! A-LEAGUE LEGEND!!!
