Winter Olympics

Australian sporting HISTORY was just made 🇦🇺

It would have been so easy for Jakara Anthony to get lost in the heartbreak of falling short of a shot at gold earlier in the week.

But instead, she bounced back in the BEST way possible to become Australia's first-ever Winter Olympics dual gold medallist 🥇🥇

That wasn't the only history to be made by Anthony's emotional win.

FUCK YEAH WE ARE SO PEAK!!!

Women's ice hockey semis on tonight, USA vs Sweden and Canada vs Switzerland! If my alarm works I'll watch it and post updates in the ice hockey thread.

The semi-finals for the men's ice hockey tournament are Canada vs Finland and the US vs Slovakia. Who we got?

watching Klaebo the other night is just amazing.
Just 29yrs and his 83yrs grandfather coach in the stands - like wow.

Got to say I'm enjoying watching each night barring the exceptions.
Good on our aussies well done.

Did you watch the video? They take $400 million a year in tax from sports betting and jam it into sport.

The USA lead 1–0 over Canada in the first period of the men's ice hockey tournament final. Finland got the bronze yesterday by smashing Slovakia 6–1.

The women's tournament was won by the USA, with Canada getting silver, Switzerland bronze and Sweden fourth.

The US won 2–1 in overtime. The US won gold in both the men's and women's ice hockey tournaments.

That concludes the Winter Olympics! Australia finished 14th, with three golds, two silvers and a bronze (a total of six medals). Brazil and Georgia won their first Olympic medals.

Winter games being handed over to France at closing ceremony. France have had their fair share events of late. Euro 2016, RWC 23, Paris 24 and winter games. I guess they bid and did well. RWC should've been elsewhere on some kind of rotation as 07 wasn't so long ago.

I still think a RWC in Germany would be epic. Easily reached by most nations, growing rugby culture but also its own traditions. Top stadiums and beer.

I do agree that a RWC in Germany would be epic. I feel like the Germans would get behind it too.

can't complain eh.....
Good on our Team it was enjoyable viewing and got to say most enjoyable I've watched.
Italy impressed as host some scenes were iconic around the slopes.
I even didn't mind watching the free indoor skating last night.
Best thing about it was the nice outlook and spirited competition instead of hearing/seeing all the bad news that gets all the headlines.
