Aussies abroad 🌍🦘

You see it more in the lower tiers now with League 1 and 2 types going to the 5th or 6th tier to enjoy their football having made their money.

It's probably the players you're playing with too that'd frustrate a big name. Someone like Sterling going to Mansfield Town would be cool. Maybe it's just me but more players choosing a decent football outing at that stage of their career would be a welcome change.

Raphael Borges Rodrigues started and played 77 minutes for Wigan Athletic in their 4-0 FA Cup fourth round loss to Arsenal before being subbed off. No game time for Tyrese Francois, who was not in the matchday squad altogether for Wigan Athletic. The result now means there are only two clubs with Aussies abroad still in the running to make the latter stages of the FA Cup, which are Norwich City and possibly Port Vale.

No game time for Marco Tilio, who was not in the matchday squad altogether for Rapid Wien in their 2-0 Austrian Bundesliga loss to FK Austria Wien.
Totally forgot about Tilio. He's earned caps in the past but little cameos and not letting him go all out for an extended period only masks his national team potential.

A quote from last week, yet still intriguing
Norwich City boss Philippe Clement said that new striker Mohamed Toure is "learning fast" but still has "several things to improve" in his game.

The forward has now scored four goals in his first two games for the Canaries since joining this month and scored a hat-trick on Tuesday as Norwich beat Oxford by three at the Kassam.

Toure's first goal came in the opening minute of the game and Clement felt that was important in how the rest of the match played out.

"I asked to start hard because Oxford are a very good defensive team, Clement told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"We wanted to start like this and it's the perfect scenario to score after one minute but it was crucial for us in the game.

"Mo (Mohamed Toure) is still a young lad with a lot of potential and several things to improve but he is learning fast.

"This week we showed him several images of Haaland and how he creates space for himself as well as Lukaku and how he uses his body.

"It's important to have a striker who can find the spaces in behind and is lethal in front of goal, the football we have played the last couple of weeks means that whoever plays there will have a nice time because all the things around them are much better than a few months ago."

I watched Norwich v WBA 4th round FA Cup tie. Mo on as sub round 60 min mark. He's looking good. Wins a free kick just outside the penaly area. Commentator: "Mo Toure is quickly becoming a fan favourite here at Carrow Rd... Mo Toure is full of energy anf optimism". and that was BEFORE Mo scored his 5th goal in 3 games for the Canaries (who for some reeason I've always liked).
