2025–26 A-League Women — regular season matches

Alana Jancevski and Ella O'Grady coming on in the 70th minute for Melbourne Victory, replacing Rhianna Pollicina and Holly Furphy respectively.
 
Ella O'Grady yellow carded in the 86th minute for a foul, becoming the first Melbourne Victory player to receive a yellow card this match and second player overall.

I am not doubting her ability but I just don’t think she would be in Montemurro’s thoughts. Similarly everyone’s ’superstar Holly MacNamarra won’t be a shoo-in for the Matildas after the Asian Cup.
 
Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory with a scoreless draw in the return leg of the Melbourne derby at Home of the Matildas to close out A-League Women matchday 17. The result sees Melbourne City remain top of the table on 27 points, three points clear of Wellington Phoenix and Canberra United, whilst Melbourne Victory are seventh on 21 points, outside the top six but one point behind Central Coast Mariners and Brisbane Roar.

Kayla Morrison would still be ineligible for the Matildas anyway because the paperwork hasn't gone through yet and Holly McNamara has now blanked in score involvements for the third time in Melbourne City's last five games.

Wellington Phoenix have the best for and against in the entire comp at +16 and still have their matchday 5 catch-up game against Central Coast Mariners at the end of March, with Melbourne City having their matchday 4 catch-up game against Adelaide United the week before.

Perth Glory keeper Teresa Morrissey voted A-League Women player of the month for January by the fans after having featured in all five matches during the voting period and helping Perth Glory win two and draw two of those games. She currently leads the entire comp in goals prevented, and is joint top for clean sheets with five, along with Heather Hinz, Vic Esson, Malena Mieres and Courtney Newbon.

Speaking of Heather Hinz, her and a few other Sydney players were names in the Paramount+ Team of the Week!

I think Heather will be in the A-League All Stars team. Would love to have her for another two seasons at least. Enough time for Aussie citizenship would be even better but I’m sure someone’s watching her right now.
