Aussies abroad 🌍🦘

He is a player of the future and imagine having him and Circati playing together but for the 2020 WC not this one.
I'm not so sure, there is something special about him. Not good enough to start for roos. But good enough as a back up ahead of matthews and geria assuming he gets game time in the mls

Since Herrington has left the Roar their defence has gone to shit. Some of this due to Valkanis overemphasising physical play but Herrington while there stabilised their defence by reading the play and positioning himself well.So good for his age.

Honestly our strongest side these days rivals the golden gen when you consider that most are under 25.
When we see all those under that age it bodes very well. We've got to get them all playing more and more. It's worth whatever risk Popovic and the pragmatics think as we won't truly know until we try it.

I'd love to believe that. The golden generation had moore who was 1st choice for rangers as a u20 (equivalent of a 2006 born player today) and kewell playing regularly for a top 20 team. We don't have anyone anywhere near that. They had 8 players who have managed at least 6 seasons of regular football (25 games or more) in the big 5. No player before or since has achieved that and I'd be happy if we had 3 in the current squad get near that

I think he is still a couple of years away and not an obvious improvement over other players we have in that position
I agree that Nestory Irankunda is still a few years away as he's still developing and discipline is somewhat problematic for him compared to other players who play in the same position.

even more than discipline I think he is just very raw with knowing where to run. When he gets it right he is elite, the question is whether he can get it right a couple of times a game, to 90% of the time

They were called the Golden Gen for a reason.

I remember kruse doing his acl before 2014

Just hoping the stars align and we get all 7 of our strongest players

Souttar, burgess, irvine, ryan, mcgree, bos, toure

Mond u burgess to rowles isnt a disasterous step down
Apart from Circati, I would also include Connor Metcalf, playing or on the bench for a top 5 league & an attacker too.

Quite the thought that Kewell was playing in a top 5 league at 17. Am I right on that?

What a talent he was. Such a shame that our best players - Kewell, Okon, Farina - were so hobbled by injuries. Viduka wasn't, but lack of ambition was his limitation. Or at least that was how it looked from the outside. That could be completely wrong. I always respected his laid-back approach.

I recall a report saying that when they were at Leeds, Viduka and Kewell didn't speak off the pitch for 2 years.
