While I don’t think we’ll have players that match Kewell and Viduka, I think we are on the cusp of a new Golden Generation.

However we’re not yet in 2006, it’s still 2001.

I don't think we have ever gone close to producing players ever like peak Kewell & Viduka, they were near world class at their peak. Injury (Kewell) & personality (Dukes) stopped them from reaching their best. Alan Shearer said he wished he had 1/2 of the Dukes skills.
While someone like Cahill thru hard work & persistence reached nearly 100% of his best.

Is that true? I love viduka but I wouldn't have him in the same paragraph as Shearer

Not to diminish Timmy - but a lot of his goals would be chalked off with VAR. The little shove in the back to give himself room in the box that Archie Goodwin tried to copy proved that.
 
No game today for Ashley Maynard-Brewer, Zac Sapsford and Ryan Strain, nor for Milanovic and Suman as Dundee United's Scottish Premiership game against Aberdeen has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
 
Marcus Neill (17) scored the 6th goal for Sunderland U21 in a 6-1 away win v Nottingham Forest U21 in the England Premier League Cup. No information yet on whether he started or was subbed in.

Luke Ivanovic was subbed on at 60' and scored (penalty) for TPS Turku in a 1-1 away draw with Mariehamn in the Finland Liga Cup.

Marcus Neill came on in the 71st minute for Sunderland's under-21 side in their 6-1 Premier League Cup round of 16 win over Nottingham Forest's under-21s, scoring in the 79th minute.
