NPL 2026

Sydney United 5-2 UNSW.

i thought UNSW did well up to the 60th Min mark, they scored two bombs from outside the 18-yard box. They will give teams problems this season.

Then our youth and quickness took over, our substitutions won us the game, Michael Krslovic scored a hattrick within 12min.

We still have a few players out, Carlos De Oliviera, Dylan Rose and Leory Jennings.
yer agree, Uni were playing pretty good as mentioned - I actually was having concerns they pulling off a right royal upset therefore very happy seeing the change once equaliser got in.
I was gonna ask how did the pre game festivities go with the legends - so many good ones.
No place like home as they say having a healthier crowd to start '26.

Not looking good.

‘Ban this thug for life’: Ugly ankle stamp mars NPL football match in Sydney

With the ball well away from both players Kealy attacked Percevski from behind, making direct contact to the back of his opponent’s ankle.

As Percevski went to the ground Kealy raised his hands in feigned innocence, but referee Hayden Langholz went to his pocket, issuing Kealy with a second yellow card for the match resulting in a red card send off.

Post match the challenge was universally condemned as cowardly, with many calling for a heavy suspension and some even suggesting police charges for assault.

“Rash, Reckless and uncalled for, the NPL is tough, but that crossed the line,” one observer commented of the shocking incident.

“He’s attempted to break someone’s ankle, I’d be giving the evidence to police,” added another.

“Ban this thug for life. It was intentional and premeditated.”

Kealy has only recently returned to Australia after playing for more than a decade in England, most recently with Havant & Waterlooville FC in the seventh level of English football.

The 27-year-old will now face the Football NSW judiciary with a suspension seemingly inevitable.

Despite playing the final 20 minutes with 10 men, NWS Spirit FC won the match 1-0.

i wouldnt be surprised that was his last game in NPL.

its already making news headlines.

It was good, they were all inside king tom before the game, then had a presentation in the BOKA 5000 with local independent member Dai Le of Fowler.

There would have been a lot of sore heads today lol.

Decent looking crowd at Marconi v APIA, main grand stand pretty well populated. Based on aus championship offical attendances you’d think nudging the 2k mark. Humid day in Sydney today. Also good to see a little contingent of active support continuing the momentum from the championship
Looked good on the broadcast.... good start for Marconi.

fark, when you view it a few more times its feckin bad, the actual intent to stomp on his ankle is sickenning - maybe life ban fellas what you reckon ?
Its assault.... bloke is a thug. deserves some time in the lock up, let alone not play football again this season, if ever.

Its a sickening attack. Hope the player is penalised heavily.

An angle of the incident posted on X has been viewed over three million times at time of writing and garnered nearly 5,000 likes.

Kealy was shown a second yellow card for the stamp, which Socceroos legend Robbie Slater branded ‘disgusting’ and ‘anti-football’ in a comment on the social media platform.

safe to say, his career is finished
