Didn't see it but sounds cringe.Did anyone see Valkanis’ post match presser? Two and a half minutes of ranting before a Brisbane staffer interrupted and shut it down hahaha

I was impressed by Vrakas ' speed and impact on games early on - but he comes across now as just desperate rather than competitive and composed. Lost his way.Agree about Klein. Also, I'm pretty meh about Vrakas.
Neither side gained an advantage over the other by that but it brought the game down to a level it should not get to. And tonight that was on the ref not stamping it out early enough. It happens.
Unfortunately, the evidence of my eyes suggest you are correct. I continue to live in hope.I think the first half against Adelaide was the aberation unfortunately.
6 losses and 1 win out of the last 7 games paints a very clear picture when the results genuinely reflect our consistent and persistent decline.
Injuries and the loss of Herrington have hurt us badly with the spine of the team gone (Herrington/Stajic/O'Shea) - but it does not explain how the rest of the team has lost the ability, and at times motivation, to play positive, team football.
Our individual parts are actually greater than our whole at the moment - which is failure in a team sport.
I am all for a good physical battle - it is when the professional fouls or hacks are not called then nasty comes in.Haha. I love to see a physical match. It should be a physical battle.
If someone is stronger and they get the better of someone 'play onnnnnn'.
I know what you'll say next, 'but not if they're fouling the other players'. Sure but there's a lot of bending of the laws going on all over the field and that's OK by me. I mean just look at what goes on at corners, you could blow a penalty ever single time.
You'd hate watching me ref. I'm one of those 'let the game flow' blokes. Can't stand refs that blow the whistle like they're reffing netball or basketball.

I've still only seen the clip above but wasn't as bad as I feared. He's never going to be recommended for a diplomatic posting but that's okay. He's reacting like a man under severe pressure, though. It should be remembered that this is not his first managerial gig. He had a stint in Turkey where he didn't last long. One failure someone will probably give you another chance. Two failures without any real successes to point to can be career threatening (in terms of preferred career). So he possibly sees this run of poor form not just about each game, or even just about the season, but potentially a threat to his career as a head coach/manager. He doesn't have the name of, say, Kewell that might gift him a few more chances. So it's difficult, albeit not impossible, to see where he would pick up another head coach position if he is sacked at season's end. Maybe Asia, Singapore, Malaysia.I girded my loins and watched Valkanis' post match interview.
It didn't bother me that much.
He spent a long time making his point about being told to sit down and stop asking questions - saying just that to the journos asking questions then and asking them how it made them feel.
Not all that far out there in my books.
The problem with Roar's coaching staff is we think we have the right to question and not accept the answer given. We are effectively asking, then demanding the ref changes his mind ignoring his own vision and judgement and applying our own.
It escalates to a lack of respect by us immediately with coaching staff stepping outside the box constantly and in rotation to harass officials. I can understand Valkanis' perception about the team being prejudged - but we started the lack of respect and we continue with the harassment.
In Valkanis' head I bet my house he thought he was asking the ref respectfully about the reason for his yellow card. I am absolutely certain he would have come across as aggressive and belligerent and earned the send off after the game.
Not all that cringeworthy to me - a frustrated coach who genuinely believes we are being treated differently to other clubs. I can understand where he is coming from and I agree at least about prejudging the team based on pre-season. When we get a public reputation for rough play every incident is confirmation of that and other players doing the same thing are just players making bad decisions as individuals.
Not crying about it - but I can understand Valkanis' frustration when I put his shoes on.
He needs to make the change in himself and guide the team along the same path before anything will change though.
I feel like milligan and jets are just a good match. Sometimes it doesn't work out he could have gone to Brisbane or wanderers and not done wellHow long do Brisbane put up with this stuff from Valkanis?
They needed a Milligan type operator. A young coach. Not an old school guy like Valkanis.
Milligan has been the best appointment any club could have made in a long time.
lol. If Adelaide are to get a result Goodwin, who has been mixing his form, needs to show up. If he does he could get some joy against Jets right-side defence. Also intriguing is how Delianov will perform against his old club and how Natta will perform following Bodo/Glimt transfer talk. Expecting some entertaining football.I think we are the only team that's keeping NoMates tipping credible, lets hope he's right again
