World news and politics.

He doesn't have a clue. Print the cash I hope he doesn't say.

I'm predicting he'll say reduce government spending. (The irony being public housing is 'government spending'.)
Selling off propaganda networks ABC & SBS would be a good start.

Then overhauling the NDIS, there are people who take the absolute piss out of it.

Tax cuts for the wealthy and trickle down economics will work initially but you'll also find eventually it leads to income inequality and fiscal deficits in the public service economy.

Better to try the 'middle out' or 'bottom up' alternative. I think that eonomic growth is better driven by strengthening the middle and woeking classes through investments in education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

I don't think trickle down economics work at all.

All that's happened in the last 50 years is profits and shareholder returns have gone up and the middle class has been completely hollowed out.

What actual bad thing would happen if the CBA made 10 billion dollars instead of $12 billion and the $2 billion went to build a hospital or 4 schools. Like seriously, what bad thing would happen?

No one is saying they can't make a profit but at what cost?

So you're saying the government should take more control over the economy instead of allowing for a free market?

But at the same time, everyone you disagree with is a socialist or a communist?
To be fair, that’s what his billionaire idols do. All about free market until it hits their profits, then they demand government regulation to protect them.

What's that saying?

Socialise losses, privatise gains.

So what's the solution without turning us into a socialist country?

I think initially trickle down does work a bit.

If you give Clive Palmer a $10K per week tax deduction he'll get excited about this and tonight trott off to Moo Moo's with his wife order a $3000 bottle of Grange and a couple of $400 Wagyu's. Knowing the fat bastard he'll finish with a couple of $50 serves of profiteroles...

Had a great time at one of the Gold Coast's finest eateries, thanks Treasurer Chalmers...

But next Wednesday night he the missus might just head out to the Mermaid Beach Surf Club where they normally go on a Wednesday night and have a couple of $60 steaks....

He is not the one proposing completely contradictory ill-thought out ideas. He doesn't need a solution.
I gave you two ideas, selling off the ABC & SBS or at least turn it into a subscription service and radically overhaul the NDIS. The latter has become even more bloated than Clive Palmer after a full course dinner at Crown.

The loudest ultra-capitalist in the town square Elon Musk, would've seen at the very least tesla bankrupt if he didnt receive governmnet intervention via grants, tax breaks and a tariff/limit on foreign imports.

But hey, no government in the free market!

So you want to sell the ABC and SBS to build Social housing in australia?

What price do you think you'd get for an australian network with no advertising on the open market?

That's why I think government funding for it needs to be slashed and they become a commercial network like everyone else.

And for the record, if I was going to propose social housing (which I didnt, it was your idea), I would start by funnelling wealth from our natural resources to the people here. For ideas like that. Not sending it offshore,

Well what's your fucking grand plan, genius?

You and your bumbuddy Muz, deride me as some loon and when I give ideas you shoot me down.

I already told you. Increase taxes, increase royalties, reform investment in residential housing, reform tax concessions.

Besides selling off the ABC, which would never ever happen, and tinkering around the edges of the NDIS you've offered nothing. It seems you want everything but you want somebody else to pay for it?! Sounds like SOCIALISM to me.

The NDIS does need to be curtailed somewhat, that's fair enough, but it is a policy supported by both sides of politics. There'd be some money in that. Not enough but some.

But you still haven't addressed what to do about 200 thousand people leaving Australia every year and a fertility rate below replacement means we'd go backwards, population wise, under your scenario.

And again, all that's fine if you can address how to pay for everything with a shrinking tax base. Over to you.

So then, we'd likely have a foreign owner. And foreign content.,

meaning the loss of tens of thousands of jobs. Not very Aussie.

Not that there would be a huge line to buy it.

That I agree with.

There's enough money in this country from the country's national resources to build a sovereign wealth fund to spend it on the people here than throwing money at the great Ponzi scheme that is immigration.
