Official South Melbourne Hellas thread 🔵⚪

This is pretty much it with club finance has been discussed which we shouldn’t talk openly on a open forum
Dont know about anyone else, but I was holding my breath and ultinately very dissapointed that legitimate 🇦🇺⚽️ supporter @biggiemic didnt make that appearence with all the fireworks he promised..... he mustve 'misplaced' ALL that proof in the end........all fluffy trailer and zero essence, kinda like the AL i guess. 😂

Bonada takes great care of himself physically, I reckon he’ll have a good year or two left in him

His injury last year was unfortunate, i dont have any question marks over his conditioning, just not sure how productive he will be in terms of goals/assists. He was great 2 seasons ago but sadly wasted with the Esteban crap.

A couple of non negotiables for us this season. Uchida and Pasquali must remain fit. Tommy G has to sit in front of the back 4 all year, and Siki has to be prepared to give more game time to Inglese/Coveny if Eliopoulos breaks down. As much as he does my head in at times Janko has to be there most of the time. I dont want to imagine us without Lopez after what i've seen from new keeper.

Pope and Leech need to reach new levels cos they will be thrown into the deep end in npl games when the main guys are overseas.

6 points from the remaining 2 games in this hub is absolutely crucial, we cant waste more games with our best team cos who knows how the ofc/npl split is going to work.

Surely the souvlaki at South Melbourne is decent enough if it's been ranked third best in NPL Victoria according to the fan survey.

Those fan surveys were rubbish with either South, Preston or Heidelberg occupying the best results.

As far as im aware South doesnt even sell a proper souvlaki, not even in a bread roll let alone pita, can someone correct me if im wrong? All i've seen people eat is meat in a pack with chips lol.

The average person just wants a proper souv, chips, dimmies and potato cakes.

Agree with most of this... I think Sinisa is tweaking the squad to figure out his next moves... Did the same when he fiorst arrived and again ther first 2-3 matches of the Championship... As for dropping two points on OFC the other day.. I wouldnt stress about it to much, WE are undefeated and have a great f/a total..

If you call shredded bland lamb in a coles Turkish bread roll a souvlaki then I guess we do???? Havent eaten in the social club for nearly two years now.... the Championship souvlaki vans where pretty good from memory though.

Honestly the league looks quite weak this year

Heidelberg will be good for sure
Preston have a good squad but have the -6 points deduction
Thunder Oakleigh City and Avondale have all gotten weaker
Hume St Albans and Gully have recruited well but with lots of recruits may struggle to gel

We really should finish top four I think

Its ALWAYS hard to say.. I think we will come out of the gates a bit stodgy after, hopefully by then, is a 15 match unbeaten run.

Avondale away first round suits us I feel, as does the draw to be honest.. Final 4 rounds, coming hope with a wet sail and tired legs, we face, Stalbans, Georgies and CFG with Bergers at home the only challenge...

Round 1 is a crucial game we need to win because after that its 3 ofc + 2 npl games in about a week and thats going to be a mess. Its an absolute shambles that no fixturing for our hub has been announced. If im guessing i will say 2 of our games will village and the 3rd at matildas as bergers play home the day we are meant to play our 3rd.

We would wanna make sure we get 3 points today.

Someone also mentioned the "catch up" game we missed will be played in Melbourne.. As for the OFC Melbourne hub games I reckon most of them will be at HOM, OV is a dump, Australia SHOULD be embarrassed if we play there .. have you seen the grounds PNG and NZ have hosted at?

Who have Oakleigh lost that makes them weaker? Would have thought adding Diaz and Manos makes them quite a bit stronger.
