Who you work for AFL nrl npl??

Jets for the treble?
It is funny, but despite their form, great attacking football and table position I do not feel like they are unbeatable.

I think we can beat them every time we play regardless of the last result and our temporarily crappy form.

I imagine every team that plays them will be thinking "we will break that winning run".

Nothing bad on the Jets about this - I would love to be in their form and playing their style of football so effectively - except we would do it better of course <cough> ;).

We will get 8k at least to the CCM game at Redcliffe. Always a good turnout when we play in regional areas :P.

Interesting for us to see who we play up front with Long getting the second yellow/red.

Will Valkanis start Daggers and Vidic or Ruhs, or go with the original Vidic and Ruhs combo? I would think brining Daggers in was for a reason so this will be his chance to make his mark.

Also unlikely to see O'Shea after he left injured last game.

I am counting on a win of course.

Nobody's unbeatable. Look at us. Smash Victory at home, get smashed by them away. Play shit against Wanderers away, then smash them at home. Even Auckland lost to Perth lol.

Yeah, I don't think any team in this league is unbeatable. This is the most open AL season I can recall. One point made about Newcastle is that they are a young team with lots of energy, which is probably correct. But I'm impressed with their overall pace. They have good footspeed right across the park - ok, not Shaughnessy, but as McBreen pointed out he usually makes up for that because of his experience and anticipation. This helps Jets recover after turning over possession. They look quicker across the ground than the team we put on the park. Just as an aside, their off the ball work in possession looks good. Passing lanes and options for the ball carrier suggesting good work by Milligan and his staff.

For me the most amazing standout is how clinical and effective several players are in front of goal - and "in front of goal" can almost be anywhere in their attacking half for some of them. They are not limited to one or two decent scorers or threats.

We just don't see that often in our league and rarely without big names attached to them.

I think fostering composure has been no small part of MIlligan's philosophy.

Also moving Max Burgess to dm looks to have been a smart move. I'll be interested to see how they react if/when they go behind because right now confidence looks to be surging through their veins.

The thing about the Jets is they are not a clean-sheet side. They almost always concede. They have been better in recent weeks so maybe Miligan has made a focussed effort on improving at the back. Fortunately their attack is getting results so it doesn't matter, but it shows they are beatable.

Another Melbourne team playing at 5:00 pm well victory fans good luck watching your team
No biggie, I'll just put the game on in the car and listen to the first half and watch the rest when I'm home. Kiwi commentators aren't the best for listening to a game though, but there are worse things to get angry about. Always have the option of watching delayed.

Then the hassle is avoiding well meaning idiots texting you live reactions and score updates before you get a chance to watch. ....

True, always a risk. It's the notifications that are the real problem. You do have to stay off your phone before you finish watching the game. Definitely easier said than done.

Just on crowds....

Posted this a bit on the old forum...crowds affect revenue and media space.

I am even more convinced than I was before all mens games should be played at 7.30 local time on Saturday night, and all women's games played at 7.30on Friday night.

Saturday night best night for crowds, Friday night best night for ratings.

Apple have kept their MLS ratings close to their and recently both MLS and Apple regiged their deal to get an increase in ratings.

What little information that has come out and roughly mid season each game had over 120k watching, so over 15 games that's at least 1.8 million and that figure increased later in the season . This was a huge increase on TV ratings.

So for me anyway if we need revenue to be X+ and P+ only offer X, then we need to increase crowd revenue
