Despite the idiots running the joint I think Australia as a country should be very proud of what it is today.

Middle East, Africa, Russia, America, part of Asia, parts of Europe, parts of South America? Would you want to live in any of those places? Fuck no.

Australia is a stable, prosperous, safe, politically moderate democracy despite the odd blip of fuckwittery.

I'll say Happy Australia Day any day of the week, and mean it.

Clearly on the outrage scale flag burning is, like you said, higher up the list than a literal bomb thrown at first nations people and their supporters.

I think the date is a bit like the anthem.

Whatever it is I will stand proudly for it.

What is everyone's Australia Day funny name?

You put AUS, then your credit card numbers and expiry date, then the three funny numbers on the back of the card, then DAY. Just post them here so we can all laugh at them.
 
I still think the anthem is a bit lame though. Still I suppose they had to change it after God Save The Queen being sung all those years.
