Straya Day

because its human - there will always be a % that have a bone to pick, judge, question, retaliate, greed, way of the world - utopia doesn’t exist
I agree, I met a Dutch girl, she was lovely, in Germany in the 80s & she told me if she brought a German boy home, her Dad would not allow her in the house, it does get past down.

Recognition, reconciliation, and consideration do though.

Not hard to go, "hey, this day recognises the start of a centuries long colonisation that encapsulated attempted genocide and systemic killing and persecution, let's choos a date more appropriate"

I think the considerations of the first nations people of this land are more weighty than those of migrant ancestral Europeans
You think people don't like you because you are muslim, that's not the reason

I never said it was.

I'm guessing you're implying it's because i'm "grandstanding" as many like to say.

Note, I said ancestral Europeans. It would be right to acknowledge that people today from European heritage are not responsible for what happened in the past. But if we can acknowledge our history, then we should make positive steps to fix the present and future, not celebrate the wrongs

Aboriginal children will happily play with white kids, I've seen it many times. It's only when they are fed the cancer from people like you, that they become hateful. Till that changes, things will stay the same

Wow, you made some wild assumptions based on nothing I said. I work with First Nations kids daily. 200 at the minimum. I hear their stories and their families stories. Everything I say is from their teachings and their knowledge, and from the teaching and knowledge of our First Nations staff. No one is saying they won't play together. They will play together, but they will also tell you that it's not a date to celebrate.

Happy Australia Day to absolutely everyone. 😎

Got the esky packed with goodies and going to a quiet beach with the fam in about 20-30 minutes . Enjoy your day. 🙂

To all my fellow flogs, hope everyone has a great day in a great country, despite the lefty fuckwits trying their hardest to fuck it up. It won't happen
So if they changed the date, you would no longer celebrate or acknowledge the day?,

I'd still celebrate it on the 26th of January.

Would changing the day really change anything?
Imagine being that churlish to continue celebrating on that day. Celebrating the dispossession of this land from it's original owners.

This should be a day of celebration and veneration .... but if not everyone is on board with the date, then the whole thing will continue to be what it is. A point of division.

Maybe people like you enjoy that?
