we have here in W.A next weekend the start of the Annual Night Series , this happens every year and clubs do take this seriously as there is prize money and its a very historical competition here in Perth.

NPLM start this weekend with the state league's which SL1 and SL2 are combined start next weekend.

I’ll break it down by competition. I’ll probably be out by 1 or 2 matches but you’ll get the drift.

OFC Pro League
Minimum - 17 matches
Maximum - 20 matches

NPL Victoria
Minimum - 26 matches
Maximum - 29 matches

Dockerty Cup (state cup)
Minimum - 1 match
Maximum - 8 matches (approximately)

Australia Cup (assuming we qualify)
Minimum - 1 match
Maximum - 5 matches

Australian Championship
Minimum - 6 matches
Maximum - 9 matches

I’m making the assumption that there won’t be a Football Victoria Community Shield match that has opened the NPL Victoria season in previous seasons. If there is, then you would add an additional match to the below tally.

So in summary, we are potentially looking at a minimum of around 51 matches, with a possibility of playing up to 71 matches in 11 months!

Even the minimum amount of matches to be played is extraordinary.

Clearly we will need to prioritise competitions. Otherwise we’ll need a larger squad to do so.

Im gonna see soooo much football this year... :)

Thats is pretty mind blowing for part timers thoguh, can only imagine who sharp the lads will be later in the year with all this football under their belts. Might be time to go on another Australia Cup run.

OFC is a key focus and rightly so! NPL is neither here nor there to be fair and not making finals may benefit us come champiinship like this year, as long as we dont get into relegation tussle pressures, as for cup run, come what may, and we adjust to it accordingly!
Many players will be bled in i think in many comps but i like you also question whether we need bigger squad depth (which we do imo).Manny return would be shift in right direction.

Rotate indeed but the league is the most important thing.... everything else is bells and whistles.

well ain't this gonna be a test of endurance/management at semi pro levels.
Injuires sure will test the season.

You can't really call it semi pro anymore mate... thats the one main outcome from all this football, the club is transitioning to 12 months a year football operations...

well even though as you say of the transition NPL is still classified as Semi Pro last I know.
Has it been formally announced by the FA we are Pro ?

As in 'the league' being the NPL?

Let me state it this way we are Australian champions and bergers won the NPL.... which is remembered and counts more? 🤣

i remain happy with a mediocre NPL season and at the end lift the OFC and defend the AU championship as laying claim rather than lose both and win an NPL... maybe its just me!

Just because we are 10 x VIC champions and 10 x Dockerty Cup holders doesn't mean we cant add to that tally .. Aus Championship is great I agree, when it grows to a proper league I will be proud of us that we won the first one ever, and probably the second and third etc... (hey Ive even got the t-shirt:)) but cup football is a distraction.. some season its good, other its bad... boo hooo the LEAGUE is everything for me at least.

Whats crazy is that in 2026 Hellas is competing for 7 trophies.....

Last year we only managed to win 3 out of 6... I expect better this season :)
